Naomi builds a shrine for protection.

Martha covers for her, hiding the real reason.

She starts feeling pressure from the men at the part once Will arrives.

Will and Luke have a strange, confrontational conversation.

More people arrive, including Spencer (along with a lot of other people).

Martha arrives, having changed, and meets up with Spencer.

A small argument ensues in relation to Martha's political views, and Cora sticks up for her.

Naomi asks her father about Gracie, but her father drinks too much and doesn't give her the best answer.

Naomi heads to church to seek out Will, but Matthew is the only one there and makes things worse.

Back at the party, Cora's son talks with Stella.

The party starts to dance, and Will doesn't want to dance with Stella.

Luke figures out that Stella is dying due to respiratory disease and tells her that she should head to London so that he may care for her, no appointment is necessary.

Stella insists that Will and Cora dance with each other, and they start to slow dance.

The dance that ensues is awkward, and Luke watches on embarrassed.

Naomi returns home after being unable to find Will, and finds her father out cold next to the fire from drinking too much.

She takes her father's cross and leaves him on the chair.

Everyone leaves the party, and Cora feels awkward.

Cora finds someone's coat and goes for a walk to find the person.

Will puts Stella to bed.

Will spots Cora running outside of their house.

Luke and Martha go on drunken rants, and Martha tries on the necklace that Luke got for Cora.

They start making fun of Will and Cora.

Martha goes in for a kiss, and they head upstairs to have some relations.

Cora's son visits the old man, who is lying down on the ground.

They have a strange interaction on the ground together.

Naomi puts the cross around her neck and wades deep into the water.

The next morning, Luke and Martha wake up to hangovers.

They have a small conversation before he heads back to London.

She takes off the necklace and lays down in bed.

Cora sees Luke leave the house, and watches as he runs toward the station.

Cora brings Martha a cup of tea.

Cora reveals that she walked all night and didn't sleep.

Cora gives Martha a letter from a new friend, Sally.

Naomi's father doesn't remember how much he drank last night, nor does he know where Naomi is.

He calls for her, but she doesn't answer or come downstairs.

He panics and starts yelling for her outdoors.

Cora finds that Frankie was out last night, and he reveals that the man (Mr. Cracknell) died.

Naomi's father continues looking for her, and runs to the beach.

Her father comes upon Cracknell's house and finds the man face down in the mud, dead.

He runs to the Vicar and tells him about Cracknell.

Matthew riles the crowd against Will and Cora.

The entire crowd turns on Cora, and Matthew calls her marked by the devil.

Everyone refuses to touch the body of Cracknell, and they claim he's also marked by the devil by being godless.

Will admits to being in love with Cora, and they kiss.

They continue making out, while Matthew slaughters Cracknell's goat.

Will and Cora have sex in the marshlands, and Will returns to the church to pray.

In a moment of weakness, he starts to abuse the pew that depicts the serpent.

Matthew takes the blood of the goat and paints a cross on many different houses.

Cora packs her things with Martha, and her son questions it.

Matthew is taking things into his own hands, which seems insane.

Matthew and Cora get into another spat, and Cora storms away and leaves on a carriage.
