Stef comes down with the flu and has to miss her therapy session..shss supposed to meet up for a girls night with Tess and Jenna. Dean stops by to visit, and he asks Stef to keep an eye out for Tess because he knows something is off. Stef has Lena go to the dinner on her behalf to chaperone Jenna and Tess. At the dinner Lena feels like the third wheel. Tess and Jenna flirt the entire time. Eventually, Lena has to leave because the silent alarm at the school is triggered. Stef later reports back to Stef that the two were flirting. When Tess drops in to visit Stef, and tells her about Dean and tells her to figure things out and be honest with her husband because she doesn't want to be in the middle of it. After a discussion with Grace, Brandon decides to organise the senior prank. He does it on her behalf, but she reminds him that he can't keep treating her like a make a wish kid. He has to learn to look after himself and have fun more. They decide to bring the beach inside. Mariana, Wyatt, Mat, Talia, and Callie help. They don't realize that they trigger the alarm and Lena catches them. She's initially upset, but after talking to Stef, she embraces it showing up to the school in her beach attire and impressing the students. Grace has to do another round of her treatment so she can't see Brandon for a while. Callie has to figure out how to obtain footage from the protest to show the judge in hopes of proving that Ximena isn't a threat to the country. The conservative club at the college has it, but they refuse to release it. Callie finds a loophole because everything filmed using the school's equipment is up for grabs. The footage persuades the judge to release Ximena. He issues a stay so Ximena can leave the church without ICE detaining her until she sorts out her DACA papers..The ICE agent in the case is angry and stalks ximena and Callie. He eventually follows Callie at the end of the episode like he has something planned. Jesus becomes interested in roller derby and calling the fouls and numbers..he takes s job there because he's happy to have something he is good at again. Emma is not only annoyed that he doesn't have time for her but she's jealous of his friendship with Poppy. She catches him comforting poppy and changing their plans to hang out for her after Poppy goes to visit her parents at an ICE holding center and finds out they have been transferred to Arizona. Mariana breaks things off with Mat when she realizes he's holding onto the last and scared of the future.
