Recap

While Alastair was gaming with some friends, he heard one of them get attacked.

Darby isn't adjusting to living with her mom, who wakes up singing. When she goes to get some aspirin, she breaks Victoria's face cream. Victoria comes in to tell her that Alastair has a case for them.

They meet with Clark and Esme, who still has ice on her forehead. Someone stole the server for their new healthcare app. Lee, their roommate and investor, arrives. The backup server is missing. He finds it at the bottom of the pool.

The app is supposed to go live in three days, and they're terrified of bad reviews. Victoria promised to help, but Darby wanted to discuss fees.

Darby photographs Eesme's injuries and finds a pepper mill as a possible weapon. Victoria questions the guys about the app and learns users enter their data into Triage, and if it detects issues, they can be proactive.

They created a unique retinol scan, allowing them to detect issues like diabetes and Lyme disease. An internet influencer named Candy B is anxious for Lee to finish. He dismisses her.

When they mention another developer named Parker, the Spencers head to the Tech Summit to question him. He thinks his app is better since it connects you to specialists and implies Lee is the enemy.

When they return home, Darby hears an intruder and grabs a vase. It's Rory, Victoria's designer, there to transform a new office for them. They argue where to put it.

Esme sent the doorbell camera footage. There isn't anything useful until they see Candy B looking through Lee's things. When they arrive at her hotel room. they learn that Parker hired her to spy on Lee. Candy is frustrated Lee never spilled much.

Victoria and Darby continuously argue about boundaries, so it was amusing watching Victoria stop an argument between Lee, Esme, and Clark. Clark remembers that Lee did a livestream six months ago that showed the app and house, and some trolls threatened Esme.

Alastair found a troll named Jesse France and will text them his info. Antonio brings out new dishes for them to sample, and Darby learns Victoria is hosting a launch party the next day. She hates sharing her friends with her mom.

They interviewed Jesse and learned that he stopped after one harassing comment and that Lee threatened him. The Spencers confront Lee, and he admits he likes Esme, but he still seems secretive.

Victoria flirts with the bartender and learns that Lee met with Monica, a panelist, about investing, but she turns him down. Alastair and Victoria realize that Lee is fake and talented at photoshopping himself into impressive pictures.

Lee admits his family lost all their money, and Monica only liked pieces of the app.

Darby hates that they're celebrating since they can't solve the case. Antonio gets Victoria a drink, and Darby explodes when she realizes her mom invited Lucas and Lindsay to the party. She runs off right before her mom toasts her.

Lucas finds her in the gazebo, and he calms her down, and they discuss the case. Darby visits Alastair and learns that the app wasn't ready and it was glitchy with deciphering skin issues.

Darby grinds coffee loudly to annoy her mom. She's still mad that her mom invited Lucas, and Victoria needs quiet to think. Once they're done sniping, they discuss the case and the possibility that either Esme or Clark sabotaged themselves to prevent the app launch.

Alastair cheers Victoria up, and they re-watch the gaming footage, learning that Esme turned off her camera before walking away from her keyboard. Lucas also confirms the attack from the pepper grinder was self-inflicted.

Clark refused to believe Esme could do this, but Lee believed she was trying to keep the app safe.  They learn she's meeting with Monica and need to stop her since Monica only wants the retinol scans.

Victoria crashes into their car, Darby switches the servers, and the roommates agree to try again to communicate better. Darby and Victoria also agree to try better, and Darby loves the new office.
