The next chapter opens with Mulder talking about his obsession over the years, both personally and professionally, with the X-Files and unidentified flying objects in particular. Are we truly alone or are we being lied to?

That they didn't change the opening is a credit to the series.

1947 High Midwestern Desert

A soldier is being taken somewhere in a bus. He's apparently been riding a long time. At his destination is a crashed UFO.

At Our Lady of Sorrows Hospital Dr. Scully is about to step into surgery, but she has a phone call from Asst. Director Walter Skinner. Next, Mulder is watching Jimmy Kimmel interview Obama, joking that if he was president, the first thing he would do is rush to the files to check on the stuff about Area 51. He gets a call from Scully. Skinner is looking for him. He wants to know if Mulder has been watching a dude named Tad O'Malley on the 'net. Mulder puts O'Malley onto mindquad.

O'Malley is a conspiracy theorist babbling about 9/11 being a warm up to WWIII. Set it up. But he's not going alone.

Cue Washington DC. Mulder and Scully meet on a street corner and get reacquainted. He hitchhiked although she though he took Uber. After pleasantries, O'Malley arrives. He wants them to arrive to avoid low-flying aircraft. I hate him already.

O'Malley shares how he's a true believer and just like them, but Mulder assures him the X-Files are closed and Mulder never had real proof. Mulder quizzes him. O'Malley passes. He has something and someone to show them.

He takes them to Sveta. Mulder and Scully interviewed her and her family years ago. She has the classic scoop mark scars on her belly. She has been abducted so many times she has lost count. She's talking about screen memories that are implanted over her real memories. She remembers tests, harvestings. The babies are taken before they're born, and those are the memories that cannot be removed. She says she has alien DNA. For sure. Mulder suggests she test it.

Flash back to 1947. An alien survived the crash and was crawling away from the site. He looks back and the soldiers shoot him until he dies.

Sveta talks to Scully about what she knows about their relationship, hers and Mulders. His depression killed relationship. They have a child together. Scully says that's enough. Sveta says she doesn't know what it's like to be abducted. Or maybe she does.

O'Malley takes Mulder to a Farraday cage. They have put together an alien craft. It hovers and renders itself invisible. It runs on free energy. Simple electromagnetic field. The oil companies made trillions, but this has been possible since the trillions.

Element 150 made the invisibility possible.

Flash to 1947. That's where they got it. The doctor is carrying the dead alien.

O'Malley wonders about the genetic abnormality Scully's working on. Children born without ears. Scully's previous work and relationship was intense and challenging. The most of her life. And O'Malley wanted to see her again.

Mulder is seeing Sveta. She doesn't believe aliens have taken her. She thinks it was men. Humans. She saw their faces. Mulder believes everything they've led to believe in is a lie and Sveta is the key.

Mulder goes to Skinner. He wants the files. He and Skinner have words.

O'Malley talks about Scully on his show while Scully gets the blood test results back. She wants them retested.

Mulder meets with an older fellow. He hasn't seen a soul. He's put the pieces together. He was being cleverly manipulated. The older fellow? It's the doctor from 1947. He went to Mulder ten years ago because he couldn't go to his grave with them. Mulder is nearly there, he's close. He says Roswell was a smokescreen. Men are using alien technology against us.

Mulder calls Scully. They've been deceived. Scully is worried about him. It's going to be his undoing. She thinks O'Malley is a player. Mulder thinks he has all the answers. When Scully sees Sveta inside his house, she leaves.

O'Malley arrives. He wonders...wasn't she invited? She wonders what Mulder is up to. Mulder goes on about the government, using alien technology experiment on unwitting humans, injecting them with DNA and babies and taking them away. The only missing point? The why.

A government, driven not only by corporate greed, but by a darker objective, the takeover of America and then the world itself, by whatever means necessary, however violent, cruel or efficient. By severe drought, brought on by weather wars, conducted secretly using arial contaminants and high altitude electromagnetic waves, and a state of perpetual war, to create problem reaction solution scenarios to distract, enrage and enslave American citizens at home with tools like the Patriot Act and the National Defense Authorization Act, which abridge the constitution in the name of national security. The militarization of police forces in cities across the US, the building of prison camps by Federal Emergency Management Agency with no stated purpose, the corporate takeover of food and agriculture, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, even the military in clandestine agendas to fatten, dull, sicken and control the populace already consumed by consumerism. A government that taps your phone, collects your data and monitors your whereabouts with impunity, a government preparing to use that data against you when it strikes and the final takeover begins. The takeover of America. By a well oiled and well armed multinational group of elites that will cull, kill and subjugate. Happening as we sit here. It's happening all around us.

EMPs and alien invasions are the tactics. Scully says some things then says Sveta has no evidence of alien DNA. She's lying.

The next day, Sveta goes on the news to say she made it all up. Scully's test results came back in.

Mulder goes to find Sveta. The government goes to the Farraday cage and blows up the spaceship, killing everyone in proximity.

Truth Squad with Tad O'Malley is taken offline. Scully is in the parking garage. Someone wrote Don't Give Up on her car.

Mulder is down there. Scully tells him they need to protect Sveta. Both Sveta and Scully have alien DNA. Someone has to stop these sons a bitches. Skinner texts. Situation critical. Are they ready for this?

Sveta is trying to escape. An emp stops her car. But she's not abducted. The alien craft blows up her and her car.

The cigarette smoking man is there. There's been a small problem. They've reopened the X-Files.

Mulder: Air's gettin' a little hot in here.
O'Malley: Oh. Those don't roll down. I had the vehicle bulletproofed.
Mulder: Because you never know when a gun-toting liberal might go Hinkley.

Scully: I'm always happy to see you.
Mulder: And I'm always happy to find a reason.
