Recap

A man, Doug Thompson, in Virginia gets gas and looks around, becoming increasingly paranoid, as he shields himself from the security camera. When he spots someone in the woods across the station, he ditches his phone and runs for it.

Without any current work, Colter hangs at his airstream in the woods when he’s approached by a car. His brother Russell steps out, and the two have beers around the fire where they talk about their father’s death.

Russell says he didn’t push their father to his death and claims there was someone else in the woods that night. He says he saw the person once before talking to Mom, and Colter questions why their Mom never told him.

Russell asks for Colter’s help finding Doug, his old Army buddy. He says he went missing five days prior. As they travel to Doug’s home the following day, Russell tells Colter that Doug had saved his life before, and Russell hooked him up with a job with a civilian contract outfit called the Horizon group. But Russell thinks his PTSD may have been triggered by a recent car accident, and doesn’t believe Horizon is involved.

At Doug’s home, his wife, Tracy, shows Colter and Russell a recently delivered package with a finger inside. Colter pulls a print off he finger and sends it to Bobby.

Russell tells Colter more about Horizon Group, saying they are an off-the-books private security and that Doug brought up an old mission they did together randomly two weeks ago.

Bobby tells Colter the finger belongs to a Len, who died a few days prior.

Colter and Russell head to the morgue to look at Len’s body but are unable to get past the front desk. The two then sneak in, where they see Len’s body had all the fingers chopped off. The cops then bust them in the morgue and they’re arrested.

Reenie gets the brothers out of jail, and the three head to lunch. After Reenie leaves, Russell shows Colter the information on Len he stole from the morgue.

The two head to the place where Len’s body was found, and Russell admits to Colter that Doug believed in rituals and curses. The two then head to a tattoo shop nearby, and Russell pays the man to give them a blessing, but when they head to the back of the store, they’re met with guns.

Colter and Russel quickly disarm the men, and they discover that Doug came to them looking for protection for his wife. They discover that Doug was seeking protection from a man named Carlos Solano.

Russell tells Colter that he and Doug did a job in Panama where they were to kill Moy Salano. They succeeded, but Doug had to return to the scene to retrieve Russell’s knife, and Solano’s men made him.

Russell and Colter talk to Russel’s Horizon handler, who tells them that there’s a safe house Doug could be at.

The brothers head to the safe house, where they find a man dead. They discover Doug was there, and also that Carlos was recently released from prison, and they believe he’s looking to avenge his brother’s death.

Colter sends the camera installed in the peephole to Bobby.

Russell and Colter meet with Reenie, who gives them a file on Carlos. After getting a partial plate from the camera at the safe house via Bobby, they head to the vacation home of one of Carlos’s lieutenants, who lives a few hours away.

The brothers gear up and head to the home. They get the guard down and then head inside where a shoot-out ensues. Russell is hit in the arm, but they’re able to get everyone down before they find Doug.

The three retreat to Colter’s truck, where he helps patch Russell’s wound. Russell then asks him to take Doug home, as he has unfinished business to attend to. The brothers then part.

Doug is reunited with Tracy, and later, Colter goes to Russell’s motel, where he discovers he has already check-out.

The front desk gives Colter a package Russell left for him, and inside is cash and Russell’s knife, with a note asking Colter to keep it safe for him.

Tracker Season 1 Episode 12 Quotes

Colter: Why would Mom let me believe that you did it?
Russell: Yeah, I don't know. I like to think she did the best she could. But Mom had her secrets, trust me.

Hey, little brother. You gonna shoot me, or can we sit down and have a few? I brought some of my homebrew.
