Flashbacks reveal Will’s proposal to Liv, which came about before he was set to ask her mom for permission.

At the hotel, Liv wakes up in tears before cleaning the room, erasing messages on Will’s phone, and rehearsing what she will say to people in the mirror. When there’s a knock on her door, she’s surprised to see Will and slams it in his face.

After letting Will in, she hides in the bathroom while he pleads for forgiveness. He tells her he slept in the guest room and asks that they forget the previous evening, and Liv agrees.

As they prepare to check out, Liv overhears Will telling the front desk someone may turn in his red raincoat. Liv finds Garth leaving an angry message for Cara when she goes outside for air. He explains to Liv and Will that he can’t get ahold of Cara.

Liv and Will wait outside Garth and Cara’s room as Garth searches it, and Will continues to insist to Liv that he and Cara are just colleagues.

Will calls Bonnie, who also hasn’t heard from Cara, and she alerts the authorities. Soon, the police and various guests, including Will and Liv, start looking on the trails for signs of Cara. While looking, Liz sees her necklace on the ground and grabs it before Will notices.

Soon, the cops find Cara, who is still alive and taken to the hospital.

Liv drives Garth and Will to the hospital, where they see Cara. She doesn’t remember why she was out in the woods, and the nurse explains she has a TBI.

After retreating to the hotel, Liv goes for a run, and when she returns, she sees Garth outside telling Will that Cara has died.

Liv calls her mother crying, and she tells her to calm down and face her problem head-on. Liv leaves a letter for Will and goes down to the lobby but is pulled outside by Will, who tells her about his affair with Cara and asks her to be his alibi.

While speaking with a cop, Will tells her the same story he outlined for Liv, and she backs him up.
