FLASHBACK: Hero, Yorick, Beth, Jennifer, and Professor Brown, are having dinner at an upscale restaurant. Yorick recounts the story of Elvis Presley's stillborn twin brother, questioning why Fate chooses one man to live and another to die? He describes the magic act he is working on that incorporates all the aspects of his life. Hero makes a joke about Yorick's privilege, and it gets awkward.

In the present, Agent 355 lies on the road. She imagines Fran, but it's actually Janis checking on her. Agent 355 gets up and walks away.

Roxanne and Nora converse while riding on horseback. Roxanne suggests that it might be interesting to raise a child in this new world, free of the constraints of patriarchy. They arrive on the outskirts of Marrisville.

Dr. Mann works in the greenhouse with Ampersand when Agent 355 passes by, looking for Yorick. Dr. Mann laments the loss of various species. Ampersand scampers off. Dr. Mann notices 355's bare feet and realizes she has been sleepwalking again. Agent 355 says that since she feels better, they should get going soon -- Janis has told them they can have some ATVs. Dr. Mann remarks that Yorick won't be happy about leaving.

The Amazons watch from a distance, noting the greenhouse and electricity.

Sonia and Yorick discuss sex over breakfast. He admits he has only ever been with one woman -- Beth. Agent 355 enters to tell him they'll be leaving tomorrow. 

At a swimming pool, the Amazons plot out their plan to take over Marrisville. Two women enter with a shotgun, pointing it at the Amazons and yelling at them to get out of the pool. Hero approaches them calmly, asking their names, to which they reply Diana and Ruth. Hero tells them they are having fun here. Jodi draws her gun on them and tells them to go to one of the camps. Diana and Ruth tell them that they came from one of those camps, which are disbanding. The government has fallen, rioters have stormed the Pentagon, and the President has been killed. Roxanne draws on them and tells them they leave. They do. 

Hero catches Nora's eye, and they share a meaningful glance.

FLASHBACK: Still at dinner with the Browns, Beth explains her opportunity in Australia but how she's not sure if she will take it. Everyone is congratulatory, insisting she takes it. Professor Brown keeps checking his phone. 

At their hideout house, Jennifer chugs water as Beth packs supplies. Jennifer angrily explains the work that was going on at the Pentagon, and Beth defends the takeover, saying the system is broken. Beth wants to know where Yorick is, but Jennifer doesn't know. Beth tells Jennifer that she will probably be killed if she stays, so she should pack what she can carry, and they'll leave after dark. 

In Marrisville, as they pack their vehicles, Yorick describes his mother to Agent 355. He realizes they are very similar. Yorick tells Agent 355 he wants to stay, but she insists, citing the continued extinction of various species. He questions Dr. Mann's ability to fix the crisis, which Dr. Mann overhears. She arrives to announce the surprise party the Marrisville residents are throwing them as a goodbye. 

FLASHBACK: Professor Brown asks Hero about going back to school. Hero tells him with finality that she's a paramedic. Yorick mentions that Hero is dating someone. Hero reluctantly tells them about Mike, that he is married, and that his wife is having a baby. Everyone is stunned. Jennifer tells Hero she has to break up with him. Hero calls out her father for texting, saying that he's sleeping with his teacher's assistant. Jennifer gets up, whispers something inaudibly to Hero, and leaves. 

At their hideout, Beth and Jennifer prepare to leave. An intruder enters. Beth tases him, only to discover it is Sam. Sam informs them that Hero is alive but needs help. He also tells them the house is being watched. Beth says they need to leave immediately. There is pounding on the door, and bright lights shine in the windows. A voice from outside tells them to come out.

The Amazons swim at the pool. Nora and Hero chat about Jennifer. Nora mentions that she had vetted Jennifer for VP. They discuss the Shakespearean origins of Hero's name. Roxanne calls out Nora and Hero for mourning the Pentagon when they should be celebrating with the rest of them. Nora decides to get drunk and jumps in the pool.

At the Marrisville house, Agent 355 and Dr. Mann hide from the party. Dr. Mann worries that she may not be able to fix the crisis. 355 assures her that even if she can't, she is one of the smartest people in the world, and it's worth trying. Agent 355 lies down. Dr. Mann lies beside her and rests her head on 355's chest. 355 puts her arm around her.

In a quiet spot, Sonia and Yorick chat. Sonia asks where he'll go, and he tells her about the lab in San Francisco. She tells him that she killed someone but doesn't go into any detail about it. He kisses her, and they head to the bedroom. 

In the early morning at the pool, Mackenzie gets up. Nora finds blood on a towel and realizes Mackenzie has gotten her first period. Nora tells Mackenzie that she loves her and gives her her wedding ring to wear, saying that they will find a chain for it. She reminds her that they both miss Mackenzie's dad and brother, and they'll never stop, but they need to be strong and brave. 

Kimberly has a dream about having sex with Yorick. She wakes up in a barn, with Christine sleeping near her. Kimberly awakens, saying she has seen a vision of the future, and all they need is Yorick.

Sonia and Yorick awake in bed together. They don't speak but smile as he gently caresses her.

Agent 355 awakens, with Dr. Mann still cuddling her. She notices something on the windowsill and gets up -- it is a tracking device like the one she destroyed. 

The Amazons enter Marrisville. Roxanne calls on them to wake up. April emerges. Nora says they've heard about the man. April doesn't reply, which is all the confirmation Roxanne needs. Janis comes out, telling them to hurt her instead. Roxanne tells them to get the man or run away. Janis shoots her gun into the air. The Amazon all pull out their weapons. Several Marrisville residents come out, also armed.

Agent 355 is getting her shoes on when she hears the gunshot. Dr. Mann awakens. Agent 355 finds Yorick, tells him to get ready, tells Sonia to get a weapon. Ray gets a shotgun. Dr. Mann, dressed, brings Ampersand to the kitchen. A gunshot fires through the window. Yorick, Dr. Mann, and Sonia run off with Ampersand to a silo that will be their hideout. 

Agent 355 emerges from the house, saying she's unarmed, followed by Ray. Athena and Nicole are pleased to have found the man, and they lead them away.

On horseback, Hero checks the perimeters and hears a sound coming from the trees. She pursues.

Nora notices some snipers and tries to warn Roxanne, but they open fire on the Amazons. A gun battle ensues between the Marrisville residents and the Amazons. 

In one part of the forest, Agent 355 manages to grab Athena's gun and shoots at Nicole's horse's hooves. The horse throws Nicole, and 355 overtakes Athena. 355 tosses the gun to Ray, and together they escape.

The shootout continues, with Amazons and Marrisvillle residents falling. Nora searches desperately for Mackenzie. Nora runs to Mackenzie. Jodi is shot defending Nora from JR. Nora grabs Jodi's gun and shoots at JR. Nora, Mackenzie, and Jodi hide behind a picnic table. Nora and Mackenzie comfort Jodi, who is wounded but still alive.

Yorick, Dr. Mann, and Sonia run through a field. Hero pursues on horseback. Hero shoots. Sonia turns and aims. Yorick realizes it is Hero and tries to stop Sonia from shooting, but it's too late. Sonia shoots Hero in the arm, and Hero falls off her horse. Yorick and Hero have a tearful, brief reunion. Hero informs Yorick that their mother is dead and that he needs to run. The Amazons will find him and kill him. She tells him he needs to go. Nicole shows up on horseback and shoots Sonia in the head. Before Yorick can process this, Hero points her gun at Yorick and tells him again that he needs to run. Dr. Mann, Ampersand and Yorick run off. Hero shoots Nicole dead.

FLASHBACK: While Hero smokes, Yorick complains to Beth about how selfish Hero is. Sam shows up, confused. Beth and Yorick leave. Sam comforts Hero. 

Agent 355 and Ray return to town. April hands Agent 355 a gun. Nora surveys the carnage. She sees terrified and injured Amazons. Roxanne shoots at Agent 355, emptying her gun. 355 is about to shoot Roxanne, but Nora steps in and declares that they surrender. Janis stops Agent 355 from shooting. Roxanne throws a tantrum and storms off.

Back at the pool, Nora privately rages in the bathroom. Hero returns, telling Nora that Yoricks is alive, but no one else knows. They come out, where Roxanne is ranting to the surviving Amazons how they are all cowards. Nora tells her to stop. She tries to explain to the Amazons that Roxanne is just trying to shape them into who she wants them to be, just like men used to do. Nora pulls her gun on Roxanne. Nora shoots Roxanne in the heart. Roxanne falls back into the pool. The Amazons draw their weapons on Nora. Nora assures them that the world will learn to fear them. Hero stands with Nora.

Agent 355 arrives at the silo, greeted warmly by Dr. Mann. Yorick is despondent over Hero's brainwashing and his mother's supposed death. He wishes he could have died. Agent 355 recounts a night when she was twelve when her grandmother had taken her to a club. Furious, her parents came to pick them up. On the way home, they got into a car accident, and 355 was the only survivor. 

Agent 355 tells Yorick he is free to go. If the President is dead, 355 has no more official mission. He says he wants to continue on as an active participant, not a useless pawn. 355 agrees to teach him to defend himself. 

Sam, Beth, and Jennifer wait in a locked room. Jennifer notices the camera and tells them to keep quiet.

From the surveillance room, Agent 525 and Fran watch. Fran tells Agent 525 to call her "when she's on the move."

With her tracking device, Agent 355 leads Dr. Mann, Yorick, and Ampersand to a car. The tank is full. There are laboratory supplies for blood testing. There is a map with coordinates. Together, they drive off to find some answers.
