13 Classic '80s Shows That Need a Reboot

6. The Love Boat

A network could have fun re-imagining this one with Parks and Recreation's Nick Offerman as a reluctant captain of a cruise ship, inadvertently bringing couples together each week, despite his own grumpy attitude. Everyone who was anyone had a guest spot on the original, so a revolving door of guest stars would make for fun hijinks on the high seas!

7. Golden Girls

There's an incredible set of actresses over 65 just waiting to live in a house together. Blythe Danner could be a hot, twitter-obsessed granny. Candace Bergen, a yoga loving hippie. Mary Steenbergen as a cougar who hits on someone's son (or grandson.) And of course, they'd never be able to pull it all off without Betty White.

8. Magnum P.I.

A reboot of this would be the perfect grounds for Colin Farrell… he’s already got that 'stache from True Detective, crime solving experience, and would have no trouble living in the lap of luxury!

9. Moonlighting

Considered one of the first “dramedy” shows, it would be hard to fill Cybill Shepherd's and Bruce Willis's detective shoes... but Friday Night Lights star Scott Porter and Astronaut Wives' Joanna Garcia-Swisher might be just the right people to give it a try!

10. Perfect Strangers

Let's give this classic a modern makeover! Thanks to an Internet scam, a girl ends up with a wacky guy from a made up country who is convinced that he's supposed to come live with her... and maybe ultimately they have a love story of their own? Arrested Development's Michael Cera and Mae Whitman could reunite on screen and make a hilarious pair!
