Bill Pullman is an award-winning American actor in television, film, and the theater. He attended SUNY Delhi and SUNY Oneonta) and eventually received his Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He taught theater at SUNY Delhi and was an adjunct professor at Montana State University's School of Film and Photography, where his students persuaded him to pursue film roles. He's known for his roles in hit films such as Independece Day, While You Were Sleeping, and The Grudge among many. He's also appeared in countless Broadway plays and is known for his work in The Sinner, Torchwood, and 1600 Penn. He plays Alex Murdaugh in the Lifetime movie event Murdaugh Murders: The Movie.
