    Thank GOD Rob Lowe backed out! I can not even imagine anyone but our dear Patrick playing the roll of Derrick. The way he looks at Meredith.... it just wouldn't be the same.

    I am so glad Patrick got the part. I don't think Rob Lowe would have developed the character as good as Patrick did. The chemistry he has with Ellen is very rare.

    Wow -- I just can't picture Rob Lowe as Derek. Patrick Dempsey just owns that character. I just don't think it would have been the same if Rob Lowe had been cast.
