Grey's Anatomy > Grey's Anatomy Named Best TV Drama > Comments Page 2
I didn't see any indication that TR was upset but IW's comments Monday night. I didn't see any response from him at all. To me, that shows class and maturity. Burke Backer, you are assuming that IW is innocent and that TR or KH should "set the record straight". You have to consider that there might be some truth to it and that they are showing class by keeping silent. IW had a great chance to set the record straight on Oprah a couple of months ago, but instead he rambled on and monopolized the interview time, rather than making a short, concise statement and then moving on. TR, on the other hand, indicated that it's in the past and that they're a family. And BTW, if KH wants to have an opinion, let her have it, just like you have yours. Frankly, I think she is right on.
I sure Isaiah would have prefer not to address that but sometime, try has you may, it's hard not to when you feel that someone is trying to embarrass you in front of a room full of people. I don't understand why TR would get upset, he was making it clear that he didn't call him that. I also think that PD had more to do with the situation than revealed, too. But I'm not going to go into that, because I'd like to move on from this. I just feel that there was nothing wrong with IW trying to correct the reporter. KH made a big deal out of nothiing.
Well apparently TR Knight was offended again because Isaiah said he did not call him the f word. Honestly, I think TR needs to grow thicker skin. It was the same reporter from Eonline who started the whole thing to begin with that asked, once again, as soon as the cast got into the media room about the incident on the set. He was bragging about it on eonline. He couldn't even congratulate them or celebrate with them before launching right into an attack again. I think Isaiah had simply had enough and felt the need to set the record straight. I understand his frustration, but wish he would have chosen a better time to say something. Shonda could have shut down the reporter. She is good at that. Although Isaiah should have kept silent, it wasn't classy of the reporter to ask that question at that time either. Katherine Heigl of course had to make it worse by defending TR in a later interview. No one was attacking TR and he didn't need defending. And, to be perfectly honest, T
He wasn't trying not to be classy, he was just correcting the reporter.
It just wasn't classy at all.
I just watched the video where Isaiah addressed the reporter and denied the name calling toward TR, and I don't quite get what was so awful about it. Did I mess something? I saw nothing wrong with it. He was defending himself, and didn't feel that Shonda should have to defend him, especially with him being right there. It like someone talking about you as if you're not in the room.
I did'nt see what happen but I just the ugly mess would go away. The show is a success because of everyone involved. It seems someone wants to over shadow the happiness with old news. If it were an everyday problem I could see people going on about it but from what I've read this was an isolated incident. So unless I missed something and Im sure someone will let me know. It's time to move on to like the new and exciting episodes that are coming up.
You forgot to mention that Katherine Hiegl was nominated as well.
Grey's Anatomy is just raking in top honors at all of the award shows this year! They started this year on a high note winning Favorite TV Drama at The People's Choice Awards, and graciously took home Best Television Drama Series at last nights Golden Globes! I love that show and I am very happy for its success. In case you missed the People's Choice Awards you can catch highlights and behind the scenes footage @ http://www.pcavote.com, I work with the People's Choice Community, go and check it out for the latest in Hollywood and Celebrity news.
Burke Backer - I totally agree, i just was curious how everyone else felt. I have a very hard time letting myself think any negative thoughts about the cast ...being such a huge fan of the show. So, i'm glad to hear that even the die hard Burke fans feel the same...it makes me feel less guilty about being kind of put off. Well, i have a feeling the press is going to reopen this can of worms with the statement he made. But I really do hope they prove me wrong. Keep your fingers crossed!
Until then......ONLY 2 MORE DAYS!
Hi Vicki, I am disappointed that he does not use better judgment sometimes. I love Burke and I am still an Isaiah fan and believe that he has been unnecessarily attacked by the media around the altercation in October. Last night though was not the time or place. I don't know why the first question of the media would be about the spat in October rather than about the show and the win, but Isaiah should not have said anything at all. The question was addressed to Shonda and she is very good at handling questions like that. He should have trusted her to do it. I don't blame him for being tired of the whole thing, but that was not the appropriate time to address it. I went from being on cloud 9 because they won to very sad for him because once again he didn't help himself by blurting out a denial at that moment. There is really no defense and you know I am a defender.
Did anyone watch the 'after the award' interview with the entire cast? Its on the golden globe website - if you click the movie link next to Greys Anatomy on the winners list. Issah Washington storms the mic and sets a reporter straight. I understand his aggrivation with how the media overhyped this situation - but I personally think what he says is uncalled for - even for setting the record straight. I love Burkes charachter and it could not be pulled off by anyone as amazing as Issah - but i have to tell you - i'm really not a big Issah fan as much after watching that. He's a little raw if you ask me. What do you guys think?
Congrats to the show, but you didn't mention Katie Heigl's nomination! She was robbed!!
