Katherine Heigl Wins Best Supporting Actress Emmy!

at . Comments

Experts' predictions had Sandra Oh taking home the Best Supporting Actress honors, but when the dust settled, the Emmy went to Katherine Heigl!

Katherine, who was not only going up against the formidable Sandra Oh and a third Grey's Anatomy star, Chandra Wilson, but three of the best supporting actresses from all other drama series, was quite taken aback.

Katherine Heigl, who won in her first-ever Emmy nomination, joked that she did not prepare a speech for the occasion because "My own mother told me that I didn't have a shot in hell of winning tonight."

Best Supporting Actress!

As cameras focused on her mother and manager, Nancy, in the crowd, Katherine Heigl laughed and added, "But she's a really big supporter. She does love me."

In closing, a tearful daughter addressed a tearful Nancy Heigl, "This is for you, this is because of you. I wouldn't want to be here without you."

Congratulations to Katherine, and to Sandra and Chandra on their nominations!

It is a poor poor sad joke and in bad taste. Now she really really thinks she can act!!! Who stuffed the ballot boxes? Who are these people who voted for Katherine Hi-jel??? It is really sad...I cannot believe those in the academy who are really really serious actors and actresses would vote for her. Clearly the winner should have been Sandra Oh! Who would vote for Katherine Hi-jel in the same category. I bet you she won the gay vote because of the IW controversy and she is a blond. I still cannot believe that Katherine Hi-gel won over Sandra Oh. I think the whole academy is laughing somewhere...(leaving shaking my head in disbelief). Poor dumb blonde from the trailer park now thinks she can act! OMG!!

Yup, the highschool principal doesn't know where Belgium is. I bet he/she doesn't know that other continents like Asia and Australia even exist. For the sake of being on topic......KATHERINE HEIGL SLEPT WITH THE EMMY ACCOUNTANTS THAT'S WHY SHE WON. CLEARLY, THE BLONDE DUMB BITCH CAN'T ACT. If you paid attention to Eva Longoria's reaction when she read Hy-gel's name, her attempt to conceal her surprise (something like "WHAT???? HOW COULD THIS POSSIBLY HAPPEN???") failed. That was so freakin hilarious!

WICKED WICKED I guess you don't even know where Belgium is? Ever heard about time zones? I don't hate KH I just don't like her I guess that's forbidden from you dictatorial mentality? I ain't a student and my professional carrier is long over (40 years of hard work) so bedtime stories are for my grandchildren now!!! Learn about democracy and freedom of speach.

I am so happy Katherine won! I missed the show but apprently she says s*** when they announced her name Lol love that. Quite a natural reaction! I guess I wanted her to win cos she receives a lot of flak and last time I check being beautiful doesn't mean your less of an actress Also I like the way she supported TR which is rare in Hollywood. Ppl really criticized her and called her a big mouth but I can never fault someone for sticking up for their friends While I do think Oh is brilliant season 3 belonged to Heigel solely because of the diff stories lines and her character's growth and subsequent fall from grace. . Sandra was better in S1 and S2 and her storyline with BUrke got a little boring in S3.

I can't believe Katherine Heigl won. I don't hate her. I like Izzie as a character but Katherine as an actress can't even tear up convincingly. Her ability to portray certain emotions is very limited. I really can't believe that she won over Chandra Wilson and Sandra Oh. As someone posted, it definitely has something to do with Knocked Up and her marketability, and her being a sterotypical blonde girl with big boobs. With Katherine Heigl's win, The Emmy's reputation and credibility is now questionable. I am in disbelief until now. Whatever happened to truthful, quality acting? If Katherine Heigl's acting is the standard to be met to win an award, then the movie and TV acting industry is going straight down the drain.

I love them all. Go Iz, Cristina and Bailey! Not so much Lexie

WICKED- What are you, a high school principal? You think you're being wise and eloquent around here? Hey, let me tell you that not all people who post here live in the United States. Meaning, it may not be bedtime for everyone. I, for one, is from Australia and it's only 5pm here. So quit acting like a highschool principal. And my two cents... SANDRA OH WAS ROBBED. As somebody said, she was just gracious enough not to comment. But damn, that was a big insult to all of the other nominees. KATHERINE HEIGL WON, THE END IS NEAR. Start repenting, y'all!!!!!

I don't know what you are talking about I think she deserved to win the emmy

Uh "ELLA LOOK HERE YOU HEIFA"[or whatever your screen name is] I don't appericate the name that you called me. I clicked on your name and it said ella is a bitch just like katherine. First of all, I wrote two comments and you obviously didn't read the first one just the second one. The first one said "I'm just glad anoyone from Grey's Anatomy won." and then I said that " I wish that Sandra or Chandra had won." It ain't like I was all for Katherine winning okay but I was trying not to be a hater alright. So direct your anger and hate to someone else because I didn't say or do anything rude to you. I was just making a comment and reporting on what I had read on Katherine's imdb message board. That's all. But I'm not dumb, I understand that this is the internet and your going to keep saying rude and hurtful things to anyone that doesn't agree with what you have to say.

Grey's Anatomy Quotes

Did you say it? 'I love you. I don't ever want to live without you. You changed my life.' Did you say it? Make a plan. Set a goal. Work toward it, but every now and then, look around; Drink it in 'cause this is it. It might all be gone tomorrow."

Meredith (closing voiceover)

There's a reason I said I'd be happy alone. It wasn't 'cause I thought I'd be happy alone. It was because I thought if I loved someone and then it fell apart, I might not make it. It's easier to be alone, because what if you learn that you need love and you don't have it? What if you like it and lean on it? What if you shape your life around it and then it falls apart? Can you even survive that kind of pain? Losing love is like organ damage. It's like dying. The only difference is death ends. This? It could go on forever.
