Last week, we brought you pictures of three beautiful Friday Night Lights stars - Adrianne Palicki, Minka Kelly and Connie Britton - from InStyle magazine, which ran a feature on the trio entitled, fittingly, "Friday Night Hair."

They sure do have some nice hair, and here's the article that InStyle ran along with the photos. You can learn how to get their looks!

That's Some Great Hair
When the weekend arrives, it's time to let loose. And that goes for hair too. Here, the women of the NBC drama Friday Night Lights flirt with some of fall's freshest, most festive styles: polished retro waves, a tousled bob and soft, sexy volume.

Adrianne Palicki's tousled bob

In a world full of extensions, this cropped cut feels utterly fresh. "It's messy and sexy, and because it's short, it's easy and fast," says their stylist, Harry Josh.

It's also a nod to Adrianne Palicki's bad-girl role on Friday Night Lights, in which she plays Tyra Collette. "She exudes bombshell," he says.

How to get the Adrianne Palicki look

1. Josh spritzed Adrianne Palicki's dry roots with John Frieda Sheer Blonde Full-Blown Volumizing spray ($6; walgreens.com), then he used a tail comb to give the actress a side part so her hair would drape over one eye.

"Zigzag the part all the way back," he says. "It doesn't make sense to do a straight, clean part with a messy look. It's like an oxymoron."

2. To create seductive waves, Josh used a medium-barrel curling iron on 1- and 1½-inch sections of hair. He haphazardly twisted the iron in alternating directions and left the ends out for a rumpled, undone effect.

3. To finish, Josh asked Palicki to shake her head back and forth while he misted locks with L'Oréal Paris Elnett hairspray ($13; zitomer.com). The result, he says, is "a really glamorous, modern bob."

Minka Kelly's 1940s waves

To break away from the high school cheerleader she plays on the show, Minka Kelly, a natural blonde, swaps her high ponytail for a sultry retro set. "It takes a few systematic steps to achieve, but it's definitely the most glam," Josh says.

How to get the Minka Kelly look

1. Josh prepped damp hair with Kérastase Mousse Volumactive ($34; kerastase.com) to add texture and then blow-dried hair with a round natural-bristle brush, lifting at the roots and pulling outward for extra volume.

2. Josh spritzed 1-inch sections with hairspray and wrapped each one around a small-barrel curling iron, twisting it toward the back of Kelly's head. He held curls for 10 seconds before loosening.

"Don't be scared if they look like Shirley Temple ringlets," he says. "Once they settle, you'll have the volume you want."

3. For a film-star finish, Josh brushed out curls with a boar-bristle paddle brush. "Brush and brush until hair has wave and bounce," he says. To finish he worked Bumble and Bumble Bb Shine ($34; bumbleandbumble.com) through tresses with his hands.

Connie Britton's soft volume

The secret to infusing long, thick hair with night-out, come-hither spirit? Plenty of lift on top and a bend at the ends. "The most important thing is the height," says Josh, who transformed Britton, a.k.a. the wife of Coach Eric Taylor (Kyle Chandler), into a modern-day Barbarella.

How to get the Connie Britton look

1. After spritzing Connie Britton's wavy hair with Bumble and Bumble Thickening spray ($23; bumbleandbumble.com), Josh blow-dried it straight with an oval brush and flat-ironed it. Next he set hair in 3-inch Velcro rollers, focusing on "this look's money spot" (the crown), and left them in for 20 minutes.

2. While the hair set, Josh wrapped 2-inch sections of the rest of Britton's strands around a large-barrel curling iron, stopping about 3 inches from the scalp, then stretched curls to loosen them. "The idea is to have a bit of movement and texture in the hair," he says.

3. Josh unraveled the rollers, misted each section with John Frieda Sheer Blonde Crystal Clear Shape & Shimmer hairspray ($6; drugstore.com), and used a fine-tooth comb to generously tease the crown.

Friday Night Lights Quotes

"When Jason Street went down the first game of the season, everybody wrote us off. Everybody. And yet here we are at the championship game. Forty thousand people out there have also written us off. But there are a few out there who still believe in you."

Eric Taylor

We will all at some time in our lives, fall. Life is so very fragile, we are all vulnerable, and we will all at some point in our lives, fall, we will all fall.
We must carry this in our hearts, that what we have is special, that it can be taken from us, and that when it is taken from us, we will be tested. We will be tested to our very souls. We will all be tested.
It is these times, it is this pain, that allows us to look inside ourselves.

Eric Taylor
