Ellen Pompeo and Chris Ivery kept it classy in black at Madonna's benefit gala at The United Nations on Wednesday in New York City.
Madonna's adopted son is from Malawi, and the event was held to raise money for orphan care in that and other impoverished African nations.

Gucci Chief Executive Mark Lee said that $3.7 million had already been raised even prior to the guests sitting down for dinner.
Even more funds were raised through the auctioning of celebrity events.
Chris Rock auctioned off events such as aerobics with Madonna and baseball batting practice with New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez.

I've been reading many forums and boards lately since I'm new to Grey's Anatomy, and I find that many people are so angry and really vicious for lack of a better word toward Meredith/Ellen Pompeo.She is a beautiful young lady and a very gifted actress. She has to be in order to convey on screen what the shows writers and directors require of her...so why all the meaness toward her? Also, she does not look anorexic to me. She is tiny, and so is Sandra Oh. Why no concern about Sandra's size? So is Patrick's wife, Jillian. She is thinner than Ellen. Why pick on Ellen about her weight? She has a beautiful round face, and has a gorgeous body, breasts and legs. She doesn't have the look of an anorexic girl. Her hair is thick and healthy looking. I am very small and NOT ANOREXIC. It really bothers me to see the hatred and venom that is thrown at Ellen by some of the viewers of Grey's on the lists, boards and forums. None of the haters know her except what they saw on Punk'd.
