Great news for Jeff Probst, Ryan Seacrest and company:

This year an Emmy Award will given out in a new category: outstanding host for a reality or reality competition program.

The award will first be presented at the 60th Primetime Emmy Awards, broadcast live September 21 on ABC.

"Reality television has become such an integral part of television and our culture, so it only made sense for us to create this new highly competitive category," Television Academy chairman and CEO John Shaffner said in a prepared statement.
