Grey's Anatomy News & Gossip: Jeffrey Dean Morgan to Guest Star Once Again; Izzie Has Brain Tumor?
According to today's Us Weekly, Katherine Heigl's Dr. Izzie Stevens could be killed off Grey's Anatomy next season - a piece of gossip that we've already discussed at length, and the source of which must be considered here.
Heigl, 29, withdrew herself from the Emmy Awards process, saying that she didn’t feel she was “given the material this season” to warrant an award.
In response to this well-publicized griping, the Grey's Anatomy producers are considering giving Izzie Stevens a brain tumor, according to Us Weekly.
“Shonda Rhimes and the writers are pissed,” a source says. “It’s their way of screwing with her. She won’t know whether she’s going to live or die.”
Regardless, there’s some good - and actually confirmed - news for fans: memorable Grey's Anatomy guest star Jeffrey Dean Morgan will reprise his role as Denny Duquette again! As we know, Denny passed away in Season Two, then returned to the show in Season Three during Meredith Grey's temporary visit to the afterlife.
How will be return to the show yet again in Season Five? One popular theory is that Izzie will begin seing visions of Denny after contracting her tumor.
A second source adds that such a plot, ironically, would be great for Katherine Heigl: “If her character does get a tumor, she’ll probably get an Emmy!”
A rep for ABC commented only briefly, saying, “We can confirm that [Jeffrey Dean Morgan] will be back, but we are not releasing any further details.”

I am a die hard GA watcher and I love Izzie! If they kill her off I'm done with the show! I was in love with Denny and cried when he died but come on, you don't mess with the original cast! What if they had killed Monica off Friends? It certainly would not have had a ten year funny and extremly succesful run. It's great having Denny back but fix her tumor already and Shonda write him his own show! We already know he's a great actor and if nothing else I wouldn't mind just looking at him doing nothing! LOL

I might be missing something here, but I don't get the uproar about KH's Emmy withdrawal...I read that an insider said she actually requested a lighter workload that season, so isn't it possible she genuinly felt that given the circumstances she wasn't worthy of a nomination this year? Personally I don't read that as her being ungrateful.
I really hope they don't kill Izzie, I'm all for the original cast and it just wouldn't be the same without Izzie, her and George provide the majority of the comedy. I am excited they are giving her a good storyline though, it will be good for KH to exercise her acting skills further:)
And YAY! I can't even pretend to hide my excitement that they are bringing JDM back in, I love him so much. I just hope they can pull it off in a believable way.

I really like kh and she had jdm have great chemistry. I think jdm should come back as Denny's twin, and start another romance. I don't blame kh for being upset, she was given some pretty lame and forgetable material. The whole cast was given bad stuff. I was actually thinking of not watching anymore because the story line was getting so sad and predictable. We will see what this season brings.

I really love Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and if they bring him back as Denny, I will definitely watch the show just to see him. But I really wish they would just give him his own show like they had planned and stop ressurecting him into Grey's. How many times can they bring him back without it starting to get silly and old. Now, If they brought him back on "Supernatural",(which I also hope they do),it would be much more believable.
I also like Izzie's Character, and I hope they will not kill her off.

For those of us who ejoyed Gizzie, this is a perfect way to get them together realistically. Someone will have to help her recoup.

Why can't Denny have a twin? Izzy could think she is seeing things and meet up with Denny's identical twin brother while he comes to town looking for the 8 million.

I think they should let her have a brain tumor and let meredith and derek save her with the trial they were doing

OK, maybe it's true that she will have a brain tumor - wouldn't it make sense. After all, we ended season 4 with MerDer performing a successful treatment of a brain tumor with their new protocol. Just food for thought that perhaps this all ties together in some way. Can't wait for Sept 25th and all good things for MerDer.
