Grey's Anatomy News & Gossip: Jeffrey Dean Morgan to Guest Star Once Again; Izzie Has Brain Tumor?

by at . Comments

According to today's Us Weekly, Katherine Heigl's Dr. Izzie Stevens could be killed off Grey's Anatomy next season - a piece of gossip that we've already discussed at length, and the source of which must be considered here.

Heigl, 29, withdrew herself from the Emmy Awards process, saying that she didn’t feel she was “given the material this season” to warrant an award.

In response to this well-publicized griping, the Grey's Anatomy producers are considering giving Izzie Stevens a brain tumor, according to Us Weekly.

“Shonda Rhimes and the writers are pissed,” a source says. “It’s their way of screwing with her. She won’t know whether she’s going to live or die.”

Don't Leave Me

Regardless, there’s some good - and actually confirmed - news for fans: memorable Grey's Anatomy guest star Jeffrey Dean Morgan will reprise his role as Denny Duquette again! As we know, Denny passed away in Season Two, then returned to the show in Season Three during Meredith Grey's temporary visit to the afterlife.

How will be return to the show yet again in Season Five? One popular theory is that Izzie will begin seing visions of Denny after contracting her tumor.

A second source adds that such a plot, ironically, would be great for Katherine Heigl: “If her character does get a tumor, she’ll probably get an Emmy!”

A rep for ABC commented only briefly, saying, “We can confirm that [Jeffrey Dean Morgan] will be back, but we are not releasing any further details.”

well i' m glad he is returning to the show, i thought it was almost a fact that katherine heigl was leaving but then i found this info. in which makes me doubt it but like it hasn't been posted here i'm guessing right now it's just a rumor and doesn't clear out anything. this is what i found: ET is with "Grey's Anatomy" star Eric Dane as he addresses the rumors that his co-star Katherine Heigl's character may be written off the hit ABC show. He also talks about Heigl's controversial Emmy comments, saying "she's entitled to her own choices and she makes her own decisions" but adding that he has a "great working relationship" with the actress. Meanwhile, ABC Entertainment President Stephen McPherson tells ET: "She is a fantastically talented actress ... she is absolutely staying with the show. There is an unbelievable storyline for her this year. We are excited about that. [Creator] Shonda [Rhimes] is excited about that."

They should give her the tumor then have her in a coma for the rest of the seasons...ha ha don't mess with the writers.

Yes, Denny, please take that whiney bimbo with you to the afterlife! KH needs to go and fast.

LOL Izzie has a brain tumour~ hahah this is actually a good way to get rid of her. but it's not like i really want Katherine to leave cuz the original cast is the best!

that storyline would actually really work for me. and would give katherine heigel the chance to act out a tragic ending

oooh, that's good, Paige

Oh Yay! Denny's coming back! If Izzie gets a brain tumor then can't Merdith & Dereks's research help with that? They did have success the last time they did it. Who knows either way should be very interesting.

that picture makes me tear up...
i cant wait till he comes back!

Omg Izzie Stevens is really cool and i don't think they should kill her but they can give her a tumor, and if they kill her that will be really sad and they might even loose viewers but i hope Denny comes back :P

Grey's Anatomy Quotes

Did you say it? 'I love you. I don't ever want to live without you. You changed my life.' Did you say it? Make a plan. Set a goal. Work toward it, but every now and then, look around; Drink it in 'cause this is it. It might all be gone tomorrow."

Meredith (closing voiceover)

Lexie: [narrating] Grief may be a thing we all have in common, but it looks different on everyone.
Mark: It isn't just death we have to grieve. It's life. It's loss. It's change.
Alex: And when we wonder why it has to suck so much sometimes, has to hurt so bad. The thing we gotta try to remember is that it can turn on a dime.
Izzie: That's how you stay alive. When it hurts so much you can't breathe, that's how you survive.
Derek: By remembering that one day, somehow, impossibly, you won't feel this way. It won't hurt this much.
Bailey: Grief comes in its own time for everyone, in its own way.
Owen: So the best we can do, the best anyone can do, is try for honesty.
Meredith: The really crappy thing, the very worst part of grief is that you can't control it.
Arizona: The best we can do is try to let ourselves feel it when it comes.
Callie: And let it go when we can.
Meredith: The very worst part is that the minute you think you're past it, it starts all over again.
Cristina: And always, every time, it takes your breath away.
Meredith: There are five stages of grief. They look different on all of us, but there are always five.
Alex: Denial.
Derek: Anger.
Bailey: Bargaining.
Lexie: Depression.
Richard: Acceptance.
