Face-Off: Should Michael Phelps Be the Next Bachelor?

Reality TV Scoop dot com is proud to present Face-Off, in which our staff focuses on a different question regarding your favorite reality TV stars - or in this case, would-be stars. Today, two of our editors debate ...

SHOULD MICHAEL PHELPS STAR ON THE BACHELOR?

YES by Probst Fan

The number of gold medals around the neck of Michael Phelps (eight), isn't nearly as impressive as the number of clearly defined abdominal muscles spouting forth from this Olympian's taut stomach (six, each one rippling like the water Phelps dominated in Beijing).

As a result of Phelps' body - of work and of hotness - the 23-year-old ought to be bombarded by single women when he returns to the States.

How will he be able to separate the loons from the possible loves without the help of a rigorous screening process? Enter The Bachelor.

For Phelps, the decision to star on The Bachelor should be a no-brainer. The man has worked so hard over the years to become an Olympic legend. Isn't it time he sat back and let desperate women be the ones to put in the effort to earn his affections? Let them be the ones to get wet for a change.

For ABC, the debate between Phelps and other contenders, such as Jason Mesnick, is comparable to the competition between Phelps and every other swimmer last week in Beijing.

America needs Michael Phelps as its next Bachelor.

NO by LC Lover

You know, we definitely haven't heard enough in the past week or two about Michael frickin' Phelps, Olympic champion and celebrity news icon.

He's won eight gold medals, is cute and has a six-pack. The girls therefore love him. The man naturally deserves a shot at reality TV, right?

Wrong. Let's keep the The Bachelor traditions alive. Please?

If there's one thing that makes the long-running series great, it's that the final couple never gets married. But if there's a second thing, it's that a relative unknown stud-muffin is introduced to the masses.

Without The Bachelor, who would have heard of Andy Baldwin, Brad Womack (that d!ck) or Lorenzo Borghese? Or even recent Bachelorette hunks Jesse Csincsak, Jason Mesnick, Jeremy Anderson and Graham Bunn?

Michael Phelps is already famous. Let's leave The Bachelor for the rest of the best. If not for the sake of the viewing public, then for this site. No one comes here for Michael Phelps news. DeAnna Pappas, on the other hand ...

Jeremy Anderson

Michael Phelps is hot. But more so than other hunks in the Bachelor hunt, namely Jeremy Anderson (pictured) or Jason Mesnick?

The Bachelor Quotes

I would definitely prefer not to be the first Bachelor rejected at the end of all of this.

This is not another season of The Bachelorette. Or Paradise. This is actually The Bachelor. I know, I’m as surprised as you are.
