well, i think derek really gets into a car accident when he leaves Mer in the candle thingy field.
Since he takes so long to get back to her, she starts imagining things...like Rose stabbing Derek! Of course I think in Mer's imagination it's gonna be a really horrible, and i mean REALLY HORRIBLE, stab...and not just one either!
Burke does not come back; remember: he's a good guy, he left Christina bc he knew it wasnt what she wanted. He wanted to free her. And he has nothing against Derek!!! He wouldnt shoot Derek!!! DUUUURRRR
The heart attack is a mild, very mild, possibility i think. Bc i heard that Denny comes back AND that it does not involve Izzie dying...thus someone must have a near death experience! emphasis on NEAR death, bc i dont think anyone in the returning cast is dying!

okay, it can't be #4 in real life! it has to be a dream, the only reason that i say that is because in the podcast shonda told us derek isn'tg oing to get hit by a bus, so e's going to be fine. i think it's imangination... and then the other's, i presonally think he is just trying to scare us, and well.. it's working.

1. Rose does not stab Derek. Okay, we know he left her, but SERIOUSLY.
2. I think that in Meredith's dream, she dreams of him suffering from a massive heart attack.
3. Burke coming back is highly improbable, but wouldn't that be awesome?!
4. The flashback I think is true, but it might just have been a minor one I think, and he decides not to tell Meredith about it.
Can't wait for season five!!!!

1. Rose stabs Derek - to be honest she seems a bit pathetic to stab someone
2. Derek suffers a heart attack and is visited by the ghost of Denny - Derek is a health food freak so why would he have a heart attack
3. Dr. Burke returns to Seattle Grace and shoots Derek in the face before turning the gun on himself. - I don't think so. It didn't seem that Isaiah Washington took being fired very well
4. In a flashback, we learn that Derek got into a car accident shortly after leaving Meredith in the candle field. - well it didnt look like nice driving conditions.
so I recon its number four and meredith dreams of number one or two because unless they can find a burke look alike i dont think he will be back

Well, what we do know is:
1. Jeffery Dean Morgan is coming back as Denny. So we know that there will be some denny action [yay!], whether derek is truly hurt or it is a dream, we're not sure.
2. i am pretty sure that in the promo, that is derek on the strecher [as much i dont want it to be!], so derek will probably be hurt [for real? again, not sure]
3. Rose stabbing Derek in the back? Not likely. I really doubt it.
4. And the car accident... yes. i could see that happening. though I really really hope it doesnt!

Why would Derek see Denny if he had a heart attack? He was hardly connected with him when denny was alive...so that's a no-no.
Burke is gone so forget about that.
I think that Rose will stab Derek...whether really or figuratively we shall see.
4 is probably the dream part 'cause of what shonda promised...unless it's only a small accident and he doesn't actually get hurt.

Im thinking 2 or 4, because Denny is coming back this season so that one might be imaginary because a heart attack would not make you blead like hell or your face. But the car accident does sound very unlucky and would be quite fitting - but it goes against shonda saying nothing soapy will split them up. im lost.

I think that number 2 is real, since it was confirmed that Denny is returning in the season premiere. I think that number 4 is what Meredith thinks will happen. ahhh none of these spoilers are gooooood!

I'm thinking it's #1 that's real, but in a figurative sense. Like Derek goes to tell Rose he's going to break up with her, so that could take a long time, making Meredith believe something horrible has happened to Derek. Well, what could end up happening is that Rose agrees to leave Derek and Meredith alone, but instead the next day stabs Derek in the back by making up the lie that she's pregnant to keep him. Yeah, #2 & 3 are so unlikely.

Okay well we know that Derek confronts Rose(even if the pregnancy thing isn't real we saw them talking in the preview) so how if he was in an accident on the way there would he have done that? Another thing is that the whole accident IS a flashback but the present time shows Derek okay so its not like they're drawing out some horrible near-death experience.
Burke isn't coming back, that's a no brainer.
Saying Rose "stabs" Derek is vague... I agree when they could say she hypothetically stabs Derek. Tries to sabotage him and Meredith with the pregnancy maybe?

i think that as everyone has said, #2 and #3 are totally fakes and the show would never go there...as for #1, i think this is what will happen in meredith's dream, she is picturing derek telling rose about them getting back together and (comically) thinks she will stab him and kill em', so she is already thinking the worse...i do think that #4 will actually happen...come on, the guy looks like a dead ringer for derek. obviously, he isnt going to die and it is the one thing that makes sense when you see mere screaming outside the room on the preview...i think it will all bring mere and der closer together...damn you shona rhimes for your head games!!!! : )

Derek getting into the accident will be the flasback. And that would have really happened. But he will be fine, obviously. And i think the one meredith imagines is rose stabbing derek because she is probably worried about how rose will take the news so she over exzaggerates the situation in her mind. It might end up being comical.

I think that #'s 2 and 3 are very unlikely. I believe that #4 is Meredith's imagination getting the best of her. And Denny could easily be brought back while meredith is thinking this. They've used Meredith's mind to bring him back previously, so I wouldn't be surprised.
That leaves #1 for the truth. I think that this will probably play out more figuratively, than literally. At least I hope so!

Shonda said in the podcast that der wasn't going to be in an accident...but i think the pic is of him after a nightmare car accident bc his neck is in a brace. so that is the mer dream--could be y she's screaming. but lets not forget the glass/icicle thing flying at possibly cristina and she is seen in a promo wearing a hospital gown.
i agree with whoever said ros will "stab" der in the back with her actions (fake pregnancy thing). it seems way out of character for rose to actually stab derek with the blood and everything...

I think, that when Derek leaves Meredith in the field, he was going to end it w/Rose and yes, was in a car accident, had a near death experiece, seeing Denny, because Denny is returning as a military dr. I am thinking, it is Denny's twin brother?
We shall find out in 2 wks.

Haha... Very Nice information. Here's what I think:
1. Rose stabs Derek.
Very unlikely! Yes she will be pissed because Derek dumps her for Meredith, but I think the furthest she sill go is telling Derek or someone that she's pregnant, a big fat lie.
2. Derek suffers a heart attack and is visited by the ghost of Denny.
This one seems more likely. It's a way of bringing Denny back. And they say he will be back in the first episode right? This scene will fit. But it's a little over-pushed too, though, why is it always Denny who becomes the mediator in life and death situation? Is he a GOD? Are we going to find out that in the final episode as the big plot twist? :D

Ok so what I'm thinking is:
Derek heart attack. Blah that wont happen too stupid. Health nut Derek wouldn't have a heart attack!
Derek car accident. won't happen for real, because shonda rhimes already said it won't. also. I don't think they would do that to Derek in the premiere and show it on the promo. And, the person on the gurney in the promo is identical to the limo driver in the season 5 pics released on spoiler tv. same injury and same facial features, with same black stuff on his forehead. I do however think that Meredith will dream about Derek being in a car accident... and maybe when she see's the guy on the gurney she thinks its Derek for like 2 seconds... totally possible. So Derek = Accident = Dream.
Burke can't come back.. dah he was fired.
