ok this is what I think they are doing w/ Denny and Izzie. It is a 6th sense take off. (Burning the "red" sweater?)I think Izzie is dead (like the Bruce Willis character) and she does not know it yet. Can you see season ender with everything in a flashback on how Izzie died? Denny is just waiting for her to realize she is dead.
This could make sense, but Izzie is not being killed off the series so I think she is not dead. Although it's a possibility, it would be like a Stevens Anatomy because the major storyline would become Izzie's one. Maybe Izzie will have an accident which will lead to her death but Denny will save her in return of what she did for him.
