In an interview last month with The New York Daily News, Michael Steger - who's character of Navid is dating Jessica Lowndes' Adrianna on 90210 - said he thinks the series’ creators see interracial dating as a lucrative, forward-thinking idea.

“Execs are looking at the success of diverse casts and seeing that it works to represent different cultures,” he said, referring to the ensembles of Grey’s Anatomy and Heroes.

Steger added that the best thing about portraying Navid is his bank account.

“It’s interesting going into my mansion and playing a kid who lives a life of privilege, because it’s something I never grew up with. It’s fun exploring his wealth, ambition and drive.”
