Don Diamont: Fired from The Young and the Restless!
First, Days of Our Lives announced a major cast shake-up.
Now, Soap Opera Digest reports that Don Diamont, who originated the role of Brad Carlton in 1985, is leaving The Young and the Restless.
The show has no comment at this time, but an insider claims that it's a done deal and details of Brad's exit are being kept quiet.

I know it's late to comment, but Don Diamont was as essential as Victor and Katherine. He is wonderful, handsome and believable.
Bad move, I now watch Bold and Beautiful just to look at his handsome face and his talented skills.

I will not be watching the Young and the Restless again be cause
of the firing of Don . He is a great actor!! I have watched the show since the first airing in 1973.

I think you will lose alot of fans with the tragic death of Brad
(Don Diamont) he is the hottest guy on soaps,
what is the problem here?

Letting Don D. go was a wise decision. His story line was as dead as his acting skills. No one would believe he could be a leading loving man after his "jew-Brad" killer story line. Hopefully, whoever thought of that story is no longer with Y&R. Seeing Brad as the "Brad-sicle" was most gratifying. I do notice that some writers stories seem to be better than others...I keep watch on the names at the beginning of the show and you can tell when certain writers names appear, that day's shows will always be good. Kudos to whoever is writing the Katherine story...good job. And put Zapato back in more scenes around the Newman mansion...a dog brings out the human side of Victor.

Brad is gone & now so am I...I cannot stand Colleen, she is such a whiner! The only thing Y&R has going for them now is Chloe & Sharon, Amber & oh yeah, Noah. They act real. They really do a great job! Everybody else stinks!

I think it is horrible that Don Diamont got fired. They should have gotten rid of Gloria and Jeffrey..ick. And how about Tyra? Now there's a boring, wooden character. The Neil, Karen, Tyra triangle is a bad idea. So there are 3 people they could have axed and left Brad on the show. Very poor decision!

For quite some time now, everyone that watches soaps have notice the extreme decline in creative writing for Y&TR. But this is pure validation of the decline in other areas of the show. Letting Don Diamonte go was truly bad move. Y&TR, you have lost many viewers. You could have written out Victor Newman, Phyllis,Neil, Tyra being they are all driftwood ,or is that 'Dead Wood'? Don was excellent actor, good looking and pleasing to the eyes as well as charismatic no matter what role he played, (good or bad). We love him as well as Jack Abott and Nick Newman. A truly bad bad move. I pray you bring Don back as Brad Carlton or he excells to better more rewarding (financially & professionally) gigs.
