Gossip Girl Spinoff Rumors Resurface
The CW may utilize an upcoming episode of Gossip Girl later this season to test the spin-off waters, according to a new report in Variety this week.
According to insiders, one of the episodes this spring may end up doubling as a "backdoor pilot," setting the stage for a potential Gossip Girl spin-off.
Such a move would save the network pilot costs, and allow the CW a chance to gauge viewer reaction before moving forward on such a companion show.
Rumors of a Gossip Girl spin-off have been percolating for some time, in part because Alloy Entertainment's Gossip Girl book series - from which the TV show was based - already has a spinoff of its own entitled The It Girl.
But sources say a televised Gossip Girl spin-off would not be The It Girl, nor would it focus on Jenny Humphrey (the character spun off from the Gossip Girl book series, who became The It Girl). On TV, Jenny is played by Taylor Momsen.

Still, the TV spin-off would likely center on one of the show's nine regular stars - although a new character could conceivably be planted in the backdoor pilot.
A Gossip Girl spin-off is still in the very early stages of development, and didn't seem likely earlier this year when it was basically shot down by Josh Schwartz.
But the CW may decide to move forward after all now that it's been forced to scrap The Graysons, an origins tale revolving around Batman's sidekick, Robin.
The Graysons was set to be a big part of this year's CW development slate. With that out of the picture, the CW has been hunting for another big-ticket show.

Ok, I do want a spin iff but it should include those who don't get a lot of screen time like:

it could be a back door pilot with the story line of:
Vannase mad as Hell at Dan for sleeping with Lexie because she secretly likes him so she calls Eric(a strange choice) to talk. Eric and venessa talk about how Dan got with Lexie and how Serenagot together with Aaron. he also hints that he say Aaron go into a local strip club and vanessa is disgusted. When she leaves her home for a drink she sees Georgina Sparks coming from a rental car agency and immideatly tells Gossip Girl who (suprisingly) doesn't belive her and replies back telling her to get lost. So Venessa, trying not to get embaressed, alerts every one with her own website called Room Urs B Wear! that has a tag on Gossip girl, forcing any one who logs on to GG to go to Her website. i would be super pissed if they did a spin off of any kind. it cheapens the original show and it would probably tank. if they do "it girl" they would be taking my fav character off the show. keep jenny on gossip girl please. taylor is freakin amazing. get rid of vanessa!

i'm kind of rallying for the spinoff to be a dark comedy about either Georgina or Dorota.
Dorota-how she came from Mexico or whereever to work at the Waldorfs
Georgina- just a show about her running around NYC, ripping everyone off and being the pysco that that she is

spinoffs are 99% failures...look at private practice/grey's...instead make gg 90 minutes long so that the stories, characters & events are better spelled out...

A spinoff wouldn't work until GG was finished. The It Girl won't work because the GG tv show Jenny sux. She's supposed to be artsy, genuine, and fun, not a total bitch Blair wannabe! If they had another girl play Jenny, then maybe. Actually, I'd like to see a spinoff 4 Vanessa or Serena. Maybe they could do more with V's films and NYU. Or Serena's modeling and acting- maybe just her being a global fashionista.

OK!I'll cry to explain.The show is gonna focus on one of the characters of Gossip Girl.Exemple Jenny,she gonna go on boarding school,and she is gonna be whit totally different characters.So show is gonna focus on her.And I wont to see Te It Girl that would be so cool.So I wote for Jenny,or Venessa.

okay i have to say im not watching the spin off unless its about jenny.
because i love the it girl books and i would love to see it
plus it would be stupid to take off any other chacter on the orginal gossip girl.
that and jenny doesn't have a a very big role in the show, and she never gets any love like at all!
and when all the other gossip girl chacter go off to collage then to the carlyes because thats interesting too.
