Gossip Girl returned with a vengeance last night with "In the Realm of the Basses."
Ed Westwick turned in another stellar performance as the reeling, distraught and empty Chuck Bass, while Blair Waldorf tried repeatedly to save him from himself.
Elsewhere, Jack Bass (Desmond Harrington) made his first appearance and Aaron Rose was nowhere to be found, leaving Serena and Dan free to be together ... although the whole Rufus-Lily love child thing threatens to stand in the way.

Leighton looked amazing in this episode. As always! I loved her hair and dress when she hosted that ladies get together. They sucked, but she was amazing!

I think the quote where Blair's like: "To deny one's past is to deny one's self" should really be included in the quotes! :)

I'm starting to think Blair did sleep with or kiss or date Jack.
It all seems to fit together.
She needed his help finding Chuck, he TEXTED her as soon as he found him, as if to say 'Job done'.
To get his help he made her do..something for him, what that was could be the worst thing or something not as terrible.
And then her bulimia comes back because it is all too much for her.
Yeah it is pretty sick, but remember what Jess Szhor said about even her being shocked at story lines coming up?
This could be it.

honestly, ed's performance was brilliant last night, and leighton's was fairly good as well...expecially the mirror scene. You've got to apperciate that gossip girl doesn't ever really stray from its charecters personalities...Chuck was Chuck and Blair was Blair yesterday...brilliant!
the d/s/r/l stuff pales in comparison...and the J/Mean Girls stuff was humerous, generally it was a good mix.
in regards to the promo for next week, gg always makes it look bigger than it really is...so i'm not too worried...
chuck and blair are endgame afterall =)

i hope this show isnt predictable and they didnt.
but they did.
