Joss Whedon refuses to see the see the destination of his new series, Dollhouse, as a bad thing.

While many in the business consider Friday nights to be a death sentence for television shows, Whedon is seeing the bright side.

"My initial reaction was mixed. I had a bad experience once on Friday," Whedon said recently, referring to the short-lived Fox drama Firefly. "But at the same time I knew that was an instinctive reaction to something that happened before."

The writer added that there's a sense of relief about Dollhouse being paired with Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, saying the two share "a sense of exploring strange mythology and living with the characters within.

"And Friday, when we talked about it, they made it very clear this was a different agenda. This isn't an issue of not promoting us and expecting us to be a huge hit instantly. We'll roll out the 13 episode and let people come to the show and grow with us. It takes the pressure off us. Now I feel more comfortable there than Monday."
