I think it would get good then! THe Chief never did have any kids, so I think it should happen. If you can find a way to pull off the fact that Merideth never knew her mother was pregnant or no one did, that would be great! I think it is a fabulous idea! I really do! DO IT DO IT DO IT!!

Meredith having more siblings would be overkill! The show has had some weird story lines this season. As much as I love Denny that whole story line was nonsense and annoying. The show needs to stop adding characters and spend their time coming up with stories with the ones they have. They have plenty to explore with the characters they have, Hunt/Arizona/IZZY's cancer,etc. I think Bailey's brother (as someone mentioned) making an appearance would be cool but we don't need anyone to stay. I think the show is good but this season they are going borderline soap opera and over the top. This show was best in the beginning and I hope they don't ruin it for good!

Meredith was in Europe for 2 months before she came back due to her mother's Alzheimer's. That was the only reason she decided to go to med school...which she -had- to be in for 4 years to be an M.D.

NO!!!!The story will lose its glamor if AN UNKONWN_ABANDONED SIBLING appears. I mean we have already crossed the stage of meeting a sibling.In another word NO FREAKIN' WAY!!!!!!!!!!!

One half sibling is enough. Shonda should cut down on all of these "extras". Get back to focusing on the core group and let us see more of PD/EP which is why the majority of us watch the show.

Greys4eva- I am pretty sure...almost positive, Merideth was in europe for 5 years! I could be wrong but honestly...i don't think I am.

I think that if the chief and mer's mom did have another child,and the child went to go see the chief and the chief didn't tell mer about this other sibling then it wouldn't be that bad.

It doesn't seem reasonable for Ellis and Richard to have had a kid because there couldn't be enough time. Meredith wouldv'e found out sooner or later. And I 'm sure everyone already knows that Meredith's half sisers are Lexie and Molly.

fan of the show cracks me up! i actually think this would be more of a story line for richard then for merideth, and might actually work. i think Ausuillo isn't making this up, and i think its going to have something to do with her mothers diaries. this might actually turn out to be a good thing.

The best outcome will be Meredith be Tatcher's daughter. But Because of her mom's phantasies writen in the dairies everybody will get nervous and will make unappropriate statements. Medical tests wll prove that Tatcher(not Richard) is her father.

Meredith could be the love child of Richard and Ellis. In that way she'll get rid of her half sister who are considered bother.
The diaries will not be proof for Tatcher .He'll say that his ex-wife has phantasies.
The proof should be beyond any doubt. DNK inconsistency between Tatcher and Meredith? Or Meredith will have rare blood type group?
(for instance B+ for Ellis and Tatcher, 0- for Meredith and Richard.)

Unless they contradict their previous episodes, they can't have a baby between the Chief and Ellis. Ellis, in one of her brief lucid moments with the Chief said she wished things had been different, where they had kids together and raised them. She cared for the chief too much to give up his child and she probably would have mentioned that kid too if he had existed during her conversations with the chief.

I don't believe Ellis would give her child with the love of her life up. Plus, I think Meredith would have noticed her mother's pregnancy, and maybe Ellis would try to use her pregnancy to force the Chief to divorce Adelle... I don't know, It just don't make any sense to be another half sibling for Meredith.

The plot line would just get too complicated. there already too many actors on the show. It does seem like a reach from biracial actor, 20-30.

Is it just me or are there some really bizarre posts today??? Everyone took a crazy pill today, I think!
Anyway, this casting call could be for anyone... no reason to draw a straight line to a Mer half-sibling. And, as other fans have pointed out bi-racial could mean the mixing of any two races, caucasion, Asian, African-American, Native American, hispanic.... etc, etc, etc....
Too many assumptions were made by Ausiello, all with the purpose of stirring all you folks up. Don't quit the show. Ausiello doesn't know everything.
As for the crazy posts?? There must be something in the air today! ;)

...and then the lost brother makes out with Christina until she realizes that he's actually Burke's younger brother who was Lexie's love interest in college, who she's previously left Mark because Mark told her that she's in love with Meredith who sleeps again with George because Derek accused her of his missing comb and then Derek starts dating the 47th Cardio in Seattle Grace! Come on... COME ON!!!

I don't think it's Richard and Ellis' love child. When Adele makes the speech (season 3) about how she's been waitin for Richard their whole marriage, she doesn't mention Ellis being pregnant. Cuz if she was. Adele would definitely have know about it.

Megan, i think meredith was away for five months, not years...i think thats when she went to europe (right after her mother was diagnosed??) not sure...
i think we should wait and find out more info about this casting call...we dont know if its a patient or a doctor etc. and we're all getting hyped up and wanting to quit the show! lets give it some time and first find out exactly who this character will be...it might be something we havent thought of!
