Since the prevailing opinion is "it is bad idea for Mer to have half brother from Ellis and Richard" the writers should give up
and consider something else.

Remember that Merideth went to another country for 5 years...something could have happened then. And maybe Ellis did give it up and never told anyone. From what I recall after their residency Richard and Ellis went to two different places to practice medicine.
However, I think it is lame to bring in a half brother. I mean she already has 2 sisters that she did not know about and now this. And the cheif? What will he do?

ausiello's assumption is probably not even true. since the only facts we know is that this guy is biracial and in his 20s, ausiello can't possibly know that he is mer's half brother. there's a lot of people who fit into that description. just b/c he's biracial it doesn't mean he is ellis and richard's child. from what we know he can be a patient who doesn't have anything to do with any of the doctors at all

What about a known half sibling for Christina? Her Korean mother remarried Dr Rubenstein and its never been mentioned whether or not the others have siblings (except George)

NO NO NO!
no more grey siblings, they took a chance with lexie but lets not push it now. Why not bring in someone else's family member OR even better, just bring in a new character who's different than the other male characters on the cast.

Awesome. That would be intriguing. He shouldn't be in medicine. Perhaps in a high position in health in the Obama Administration. Or, a lawyer. Ellis could have had a kid b/c the Chief asked Mer if her mother was still with the UN so I'm assuming she had been out of the country. Good story line. Can't wait.

There could have been a child BEFORE Meridith while Ellis was in College, Med school or in Residency. She was afraid of losing her position she gave that child up to continue.
I hope there are not any more doctors there are too many doctors now. Get rid of Torres and the other nut cut back on Yang. Leave George and Izzie alone they are good and funny. I would like to see Bailey have move time she is great.

I personally wouldn't want that. That just goes a little too far for me. And Meredith already has another half-sibling besides Lexie. Molly Thompson. She doesn't need another one.

I think finding out about Lexie and Molly was enough. Move on to something else. Ellis was to high profile for this not to have gotten out somehow.

how the hell would you not remember your mothers stomach being th size of a watermelon? theres no way they can honestly go through with this! at least i hope not, i like lexie and all but they have already played out that story line

This is ridiculous!! You'd think that Meredith would've known something. Also, she worked with the Chief EVERYDAY when she was in Seattle.... wouldn't he notice the baby bump?!?! Another point is that when Ellis was 'reliving' her early years... you'd think that she would bring up the pregnancy.
I'm hoping that this is just for a patient... or a new doctor..... anything but a new sibling for Mer.

Just cause their casting for a new actor it could mean a whole lot of possibilities, a patient, a new doctor, anything.

I was just looking on www.spoilerfix.com/grey.php (its pretty reliable for greys spoilers) and this is what it says for a spoiler for an episode in the spring:
"Nathan: Male intern, mid 20's, Bi-racial. He is smart and funny; a boy next door type. Recurring Guest Star"
So its the same description (mid 20s, bi-racial) except he's also an intern. And it says nothing about him being Meredith's brother.

Oh for goodness sake enough with the new characters, how about they give stories to the ones they get, like I don't know George, the character that has so olittle storyline the actor wants to quit because of it. So instead of actually giving this characetr we love a story they keep bringing new ones.

Does anybody know when Ellis married Thatcher? Like did she meet Richard during or before? Just wondering how long Ellis and Thatcher's marriage lasted.. She could have had a baby when they separated/divorced and Meredith was away at Medical school or something, depending on how old Ellis was.

Yeah, I think this is a huge jump and will not happen. The idea that it is family of Bailey's is a good possibility. I also don't think it is a love child of the Chief's with another woman- he loved Ellis and stayed with Adele out of duty- I don't think he would have had another affair with someone else and not have at least alluded to it in the past five seasons when his love life has been discussed in some detail.
No way this is happening- this is just a bit of gossip designed to get people all riled up just like those gossip rags do all the time with celebrities. There is no way on earth that Ellis could have hidden the pregnancy from Meredith or that even if Meredith was too young, someone would have SEEN the pregnancy and mentioned it at this point. Oh and no one has mentioned the fact that Ellis had Alzheimer's- in her mind at the end, Mer was still a child. Surely her having another child or being pregnant again would have come out when she was ill. Old old secrets come out whe
