Discuss "The Grandfather" in our Gossip Girl Forum!

Happy Monday! Tonight, Gossip Girl is back with an all-new episode, "The Grandfather."

Unlike "The Age of Dissonance," which served largely to tie up past story lines and set new ones in motion, there will be plenty of drama, strife and scandal on the Upper East Side tonight - with plenty of unexpected twists in store as well.

Will a crazy new Blair Waldorf put the old Blair Waldorf to rest - and is that a good thing? Will Chuck succeed in winning back the object of his affection? Will Nate choose a newly-reconciled family over his romance with Vanessa?

What else do you think and hope will happen in this evening's Gossip Girl - and beyond? Discuss "The Grandfather" in our Nate Pic

    To Gwenivere:

Husband? Future? Are you friggin' serious?! They are teenagers in HIGH SCHOOL for Pete's sake, not 30 year olds! Goodness, girl, this isn't One Tree Hill or The Notebook, or something! It's freaking Gossip Girl!!!!!! And if Chuck Bass settles down, then he won't be the bad boy we have to grown to love!

Ok most people on this forum are sooo stupid! If B and C becomes a couple, then what's next? Also, you have to remember that Chuck said that it would be weird for him to be in a relationship ("Come on- Chuck and Blair at the movies?"). After all, he's Chuck Bass- the bad, perverted guy! If they became a regular everyday couple, then the show would get boring, then cancelled. Also, you have to remember- this is Gossip Girl, not The Notebook. On the Upper East Side, there is no lovey-dovey, "happily ever after" crap. This is a drama, not a romance. Plus, the characters are rich, spoiled teenagers. They're looking for sex, not romance. You "fans" who are looking for all that romantic mushy stuff need to go watch some other tv show (like One Tree Hill), not GG. I personally like how everyone is pairing up with each other and guest stars, because it keeps the show fresh, interesting and dramatic, and it makes it feel so UES. Who likes a boring tv show with boring tv couples? Oh yeah, not me

I agree with one of the previous posters on this threat - the scene in which Nate and Blair were talking about the past made me a little teary. Sure, people can argue that they're just old friends going through some good times but it's obvious that the conversation made Blair forget about the bad times she went through with Nate and brought back a lot of good memories. She wants to relive those memories, back when she was in control and everything was 'perfect'.

I do not hate Vanessa, but I have to say that she is by no means a good match for Nate. If she grows up to marry Nate, it would be like putting mixing oil and water. Vanessa comes from a carefree and relaxed background while Nate strives to be appreciated by his Grandfather and values family tradition. Like Gwenivere, I agree with the fact that Blair would be more of a suitable partner for Nate, as she seems to value the same things. Together, they would do and enjoy the things rich people enjoy doing such as upper class so

kimmie, i know you can write.. so it only follows that you can read. scroll through this thread. it's obv there are LOTS of people who luv Blair with NATE.
But it's ok, you can go on living in denial. I mean, it's enough that you have to see Nate&Blair making out every episode until the end of this season :)

What the hell? It’s like everything that could go wrong has gone wrong in this one episode. Some of the best parts were only the funny ones like when Serena slapped Dan, when Lily read the napkin and said something like “get two for one Friday special” and when chuck said in the beginning something about licking Blair. Plus I found it entertaining when Chuck and Serena showed up at Blair’s house to find her but Dorota won’t say anything about her.

Other than that I found it to be a real disappointment. Too much Nate and his family. They are soooooo boring. I can’t believe Blair slept with Carter. I am just glad he is gone but something of course tells me he will be back.

Nate and Blair? Just hearing them together is bringing back all the horrible memories I have of them in season one and it also reminds me of how much I hate Nate because he broke up Chuck and Blair in season one.

In this episode, there were like so many times I wanted to yell at Chuck to run afte

Can I just say that this was the best episode I have seen in a looong time?! This was definitely back on track to the old GG eps that made me fall in love with the show in the first place.

Nate and Blair have much better chemistry than they did in season 1. Maybe Chace Crawford has matured as an actor, but something has changed for the better. All I can say, is that I loved the interaction between them.

I'm glad they set this up so we get to see the old Chuck again. I miss him. The Chuck that was an asshole and would tear down anyone who stood in his way. It's just too bad it has to be Nate in his warpath...

There are a lot of different shippers on this site. With that said I have to address two main parties. N/B vs C/B. I don't know why there are so many bad words said between the two camps. Nate and Chuck both have their faults and we could rant for hours on who is better suited for Blair. But that right there is the common factor. Blair. No matter who you are shipping for

I LOVED THIS ESPISODE THE TALK BETWEEN N AND B WAS SOO NICE I THINK N HAS REALLY GROWN UP WHEN N WAS LEAVING I THOUGHT THEY WERE GOIGN TO KISS I THOUGHTTHEY WERE GING TO SAY I LOVE TO EACH OTHER I LOVE N AND B I HATE V AND N

Oh my, I've seen it and it was a sad one. But clearly, when Chuck is going to have to say it..he is forced everytime. 'You know what to say', 'You have a good heart, give it to somebody who cares'. Like he has to be reminded over and over and that part makes me rethink it every time.

I loved Blair and Nate in this episode. Though, I do think Nate belongs with Vanessa. They are lovely. Sadly, he treats her this way, just to look good for his family. If family don't stick by you in good or bad times, I would've chosen someone who did.

The whole 'Do you remember the first time you saw the real me'thing was very good. What Chuck said made me melt! Honest, sweet and showing he loves her so much!

I'm actually glad Nate brought Blair to her normal self. I loved their talk and yeah, I don't mind seeing them for a while. After all..it won't last a lifetime.
