Although I believe it would be an Izzie/Alex wedding, I also believe this might be too obvious? even though it still is a suprise, but it was the first thing I thought about.
Mer/Der have waited so long, I don't think they will do a quicky wedding. That would be a shame, because they deserve a huge wedding.
For it to be a suprise it might be the two girls or Hunt/Christina. This last one might seem soon, but they already bound deeply with each other. And if Owen fixes his "Problems".....................

After watching "Elevator Love Letter", my vote goes to Izzie and Alex. Aside from Mer/Der, they are the couple most likely to take the next step in their relationship. And add to the fact that Izzie's life is hanging on a precarious balance, it kind of makes the very short time frame of the engagement plausible.
Besides, I doubt the Mer/Der wedding which took Derek three times to finally get a yes to the engagement for would be justifiably cramped in seven weeks.:)

I have a feeling that Izzy will marry Alex before her last surgery. Then she will have the surgery and die, like Denny, after her surgery with a complication.
Then you will see Alex crying and screaming holding her. The scene will fade and you will see an elevator open with a Prom dressed Izzie smiling on the other side. She meets Denny and says "see I told you I would show you my dress" (just like last weeks episode!

You guys are all forgetting about the girl-girl couple we have on this show. Maybe they get married...it would certainly be a surprise as they barely know each other.

it's not going to be mer and der that's going to get married. But I'm happy they are getting engaged, at least we get to see them more together, planning for their wedding and all.=)..
It's either AI or some patients who are getting married..Mark sloan will no longer be mark sloan if he marries lexie..that fast? that's just not him..
I think it will be alex and izzie..i like the couple..but i like merder better..=)

I saw a promo where Der walks into Mers kitchen and sits down at the table with Mer and takes out the box with the ring in it. He does not say anything to her. She says not this way. This is Izzys day and you need to operate on her brain. He than walks out to shower. This is #2 & the elevator is #3 and a charm!!
I really want Der happy again and to do something very special to show his love for her and make it very happy and exciting. I hope the elevator sceen really comes through for me and all MerDer fans.

Any chance it'll be a george and izzie wedding (not a fan of them as a couple) but it seems likely since both of them want to leave the show. So maybe george decides that he never wants to separate from izzie, so he steps up and marries her. And when she's done with whatever surgery or if she dies, he ends up leaving the hospital that way.

I had read a spoiler somewhere that Derek attempts to propose three times. The first doesn't happen due to Addison's impromptu arrival. They say the second one goes completely haywire and doesn't exactly pan out as expected. And the third time is the charm. So since I've only seen him officially attempt proposing once, I think the next time he does Meredith with say no... but then comes magic number three, which will probably end the season with the engagement at the very least.

i think izzie is leaving forreal though, and i don't think they'll have her die, maybe sent to other hospitals to have treatment and stuff, and since theres rumors that she'll have to be a guest star she'll appear in random episodes for treatment and surgeries or something...
any thoughts?

i'm definitely thinking Alex & Izzie. Because she's dying and all and it would be the perfect time. her mom's coming and it would be kind of nice to see something really happen between those two.
don't get me wrong, i would KILL for a mer/der wedding. but it would be just too soon. i'm going with alex and izzie on this one=)
