Sounds like they've sort of short-changed him on the show by only showing him with his family and Blair. If we saw him being captain of the soccer team, the life of the party, with different girls always chasing him, it would make more sense to me. (Well, I also don't believe Blair would put up with his clothes always being wrinkled ;)

In the books Nate was actually just as confused with what he wanted in terms of life and girls. And he was ALWAYS HIGH haha. But it always ended up coming back to Blair.... except the last book. And Serena and Blair were both like madly in love with him. It was weird.
I just like the idea of the Queen B finally being able to have the most irresistible, fickle Prince who HAS the charm to get any girl in the world. I feel like if there is ANY GIRL out there in the world that can make Nate want to settle down and keep him there it should be Blair. Cause she's that awesome.
I don't know if that makes any sense.

It's weird - though Nate stood up to his father - even slugged him - I never felt the emotion from him that this clip has. Bravo, Chace!
Chuck has gradually learned to care for people through the season, but his father made being in a relationship sound terrifying. "It will change everything" - and comes with responsibility for another human being. Except at 17, Chuck wasn't ready to take responsibility for himself, let alone someone else.
Since The Grandfather, Chuck's realized that Blair needs someone to believe in her and finally understands he can't take her friendship or love for granted. No one ever set boundaries for Chuck - except Blair. Top that off with an ultimatum from his best friend, and we've finally got a realistic foundation for a real Chair relationship.

Yeah, Nate wants her... for now. He is known for his Nate-and-switch, so who knows for how long he'll want to be with Blair. Despite that, I feel kind of bad for him because he's giving solid advice to Chuck, but when Chuck actually does man up, Nate is going to lose B. Oh well, everyone knows the Queen B should be with the "Dark Prince" as GG calls him.

Chuck is not an asshole. his just confused with all that. He's hurting. But I agree with Nate, I think chuck is lying to himself... He does love Blair.. can't wait til chuck says the I love you words!!! :D!!! So cuteee!!! Besides, Nate's intention may be real but I don't know... Wow... Chace Crawford really suprised me there! I didn't know he could convey any emotion at all, so WOW!!! that sentence "I Want her" was powerfull for someone usually so dull!
If he had been like that from the beginning there would have been no chair to begin with!!
It was the first glimpse that Nair can be as great as Chair but maybe it was also too late... sight...
as much as it pains me to say this... nates right. if chuck wants blair he has to sum up the courage to tell her.

*Sarah*, my guess is that the writers didn't know who Nate should be with since Blair was all obsessed over Chuck -- which i think was a big mistake because his behavior over Catherine/Vanessa/Jenny really turned many fans off.
i also think that C&B are boring as hell when they're being lovey-dovey. what makes them great together is their scheming and plotting (especially against each other). but if they were in a real relationship, all that excitement would end, and they would become the most boring couple on upper east side. that's why i think chuck and blair are better off staying as flirty friends, rather than an actual couple.
with that said, nate does seem to genuinely want what's best for B, and i think that's what true love is.

I've got nothing against Nate & Blair being together or anything, loved them first season, but seriously when did Nate become such a b*******?! This season he's been flakier than a Flake (bad comparison, i know..couldn't think of anything that sounded better, lol) First Catherine, then Vanessa, then Jenny, then Vanessa and now he's suddenly completely in love with Blair again?! Considering when he was with Blair the first time he was in love with Serena, how much does this boy get around?! And he was so supportive of CB at the end of first season. Traitor!!!!!! At least Chuck is honest about being a manwhore.
That said, thats why we love GG, because it never just settles down, and as much as I love CB, they were better when they were scheming and not all whiny about loving each other.

I agree with GossipGirl that Nate doesn't want any insecurities, but at the same time, I think Nate knows that Chuck has feelings for her and she does for him, and he doesn't want Blair hurt, so he's letting Chuck know that he needs to step up or get out because he wants Blair until Chuck doesn't want her anymore and then he'll move onto another girl like he usually does. I am proud of Nate that he's finally getting a little more interesting and not so boring. I think Chuck will definitely take this seriously and stand up for what he's wanted since season one, episode seven.

I think that nate knows he is putting his relationship on the line. he wants to know that blair would want to be with him even if chuck loves her. he doesnt want any insecurities in his relationship.

ok i am sure everyone will start hating on me for this but, i actually like chuck's hair! i just like the whole look, the dapper older gentleman. one of the reasons i love chuck's character is the way he is dressed and styled and the new hair goes better with an ascot :). i get the perspective that his first season hair was "hotter" and i am older than many of the fans posting here so maybe that makes a difference too but i just wanted to say that not EVERYONE hates the hair :P.
