Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester kept it fun, playful and gorgeous in a Louis Vuitton dress at the “Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion” Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday evening. Talk about colorful!
Meanwhile, co-star Blake Lively showed off a bit of a leg and more in a stunning teal Versace gown (and Chanel Beauté makeup) at the fashion extravaganza.

Blake Lively looks stunning in her blue dress. And Leighton Meester totally rocked it. I mean, yes, her outfit IS very extraordinary, but its perfect for the COSTUME Institute Gala. With her red lips and her beautiful face she reminds me of some kind of puppet and I totally love it!!!

Maybe it's just the angle of the picture, but the hair and the dress is really unflattering on Blake Lively. Overweight is an incredible stretch to describe her here, but she shouldn't have worn a dress that exposed as much leg unless her legs were Gisele Bundchen's (a pic of Gisele at last year's gala pretty much sums this up). As for Leighton Meester, she BELONGS in the Costume Institute Gala.

you guys are really not getting it.. it's a COSTUME gala themed "Muse", Leighton read it as "magician" and Blake is leaning towards the Greek muse idea. Is it THAT hard for you to understand that they can't really just wear some cute little boring dresses, they had to take a risk!
that being said, i think Leighton's outfit is AMAZING. i mean seriously, wouldn't you wanna wear something like this to a costume ball??? i mean, its the only place u can get away with it! i also love the way she's posing - so cute and goes with the clothes
Blake on the other hand, looks slutty as always, why does she have to show her leg and stare at the camera aggressively? looks cheap to me
