Chad Michael Murray, Hilarie Burton Leaving One Tree Hill
Looks like One Tree Hill newlyweds Peyton Sawyer and Lucas Scott - who we saw get married less than 24 hours ago - are about to embark on a permanent honeymoon.
Sources have confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that stars Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton will not be returning for the show's seventh season next fall.
The CW is expected to formally announce their departures, which have been the subject of One Tree Hill speculation for months, next Thursday at its "upfronts."
Murray and Burton have been engaged in high-profile contract negotiations for the past several months. Ultimately, a deal couldn't be worked out for the stars.
Both actors will make their final appearances in Monday's sixth season finale.
To fill the void, a One Tree Hill insider reports two new characters will be introduced next season. Additionally, Austin Nichols is being promoted to a series regular.
So you can scratch our earlier theory that next week is it for the long-running series, but it looks like Lucas and Peyton will be saying their tear-filled goodbyes.
I now pronounce you husband and wife ... now leave town.

IF THE CW DOES THIS SEASON 6 WILL BE THE END OF ONE TREE HILL FOR ME AND IM SURE FOR MANY OTHERS!.Lucas is the face of one tree hill peyton can die or whatever, she is annoying. i dont care about her but lucas? He has been the main character since the first episode. it will be nothing without him and they will learn that very soon when no one watches the season premiere and they will be losing more money ten if they had renewed chad michael murrays contract!!!

If Hillary and Chad leave the show, I will not continue to watch. They are two of the main characters in the show and bringing in two new characters will not fill the void left.

OMG THEY CANNOT DO THAT! I loved Lucas and Peyton! I've seen every single episode since season 1 to the season 6 finale. Lucas used to be the main character and now he's leaving? He can't do that. Peyton was my 2nd favorite character because of how she has gone through so much. How can The CW just throw away their best characters like that. This has to be a lie because i refuse to believe it! Omg I'm so mad!

there is NO WAY they can let that happen.
i love the other characters and all but tree hill is nothing without lucas and peyton , it wil be like a part is missing. i guess season seven will be the final season cause i dont think the new characacters are going to make any ratings (besdie julian cause i like him:])
and if they are going they should make an appearance in the seventh. does this mean peyton dies?:\
