George had 5 minutes of airtime the whole season. He was alone when everyone had a love interest. His relationships with Izzie, Lexie, Bailey, Meredith were all ignored.
He felt so alone and unloved, he joined the army. Then, being the best guy in the world that he is, he saves a girl who didn't even give him the time of day, loses his face and has to hear idiots make lame jokes about it.
We're suppose to be happy about this.
He died a horrible death. He was alone. Nobody recognized him. He was in terrible pain.
I'm so tired of Mark being an ass and being excused about it all the time.
I'm so tired of Mark being an ass and getting to have the happy ending when George who is such a good person never got nothing and even ends up being killed.
Mark is soulless. I don't know how you can even compare him to George, who has the biggest heart there is.
George who loves Izzie completely loses her to Alex who has treated her like dirt just because he is supposedly better-l

Oh please for the last time, TR only quit because Shonda wouldn't write for him. He would have stayed if she had written for him.
George has almost no storry in season 4, especially in the last half, so yeah he did have nothing for two seasons.
And then season 5, the whole entire season. No other character was ever backburnered for an entire season.
George wasn't better than Alex and Mark? Like you said, Alex and Mark are purposefully mean and cruel and walk over people to get ahead. That's something George never did. He never hurt someone on purpose when they did that repeatedly. He never looked down on anyone. He cared about each one of his patients. I don't see him ever calling a wwoman a fat cow the way Alex did one of his patients who died.

Seriously people? What is going on?
About the article, it was originally to hint a MerDer wedding (that WE ALL KNEW it wasn't happening). They also posted the idea of George's funeral. It was hinted to three characters. So yeah, whoever posted on MerDer had a right since they were the original idea of the post (or am I seeing the wrong picture there?).
About George, it was a great character who died heroically. He fulfilled his doctor status by saving one last life before he died. George was the sensitive, nice guy who couldn't get a break but even so, this is real life problems that people have. George couldn't have the fairytale, c'mon! They don't exist but he lived on the best way he could. He was lost and thought that the war might find him. Fate is fate. (Yes, I know this is a TV show). Why can't we see and remember the good of him and what he left to the show?
As for the other characters bashing George...seriously? Did you expect Mark saying that he'll be the hero and

Well most of the peeople I know watch for Gizzie and George not MerDer.
In fact I'm the only one of my friends who even like MerDer. They all find them boring, as do many people on the Internet.
I like them but Gizzie was my MerDer and always will be.
George is not even remotely expendable for me. He is Grey for me.
So how about you don't talk for all the fans? I very much doubt you have met even 1% of the entire Grey fanbase.

it feels sad to say but a lot of people need to be reminded why most poeple watch this show (not the fans, we already know). George is likeable but expendable as are izzy and alex, the real reason most of us watch is merder. don't get me wrong, i like the others and will miss george (i still miss bourke!) but we are being distracted by the writers who seem to be taking the focus off the real heart of the show. the post it nonsense was just the start - trouble ahead for merder, and lots of it. Anyone who thinks that there's a REAL wedding for merder anytime soon is not paying attention. I'm just about ready to give up.

I'm sorry I got so mad.
I have just been feeling pretty bitter about how George was treated.
I certainly don't want to feel that angry and bitter about a TV show or to get into fights with people about it.
I think I'll find a show that doesn't make me so angry because I don't think it's good for me to get that upset about a fictional character.
So hope this can be peace.

I'm gonna stop commenting on this post, but before i do, i wanna just say that i'm sorry if i offended you because i know the feeling of missing the person who is the reason that you watch/do something. Trust me, i know this too well and i also know that yelling about it doesn't make that pain go away, sometimes it just reminds you more about the things your gonna miss and the moments you never got to see them experiance, which in my eyes is a worse feeling then missing the person

I don't mean to be rude, but this article mentions George. So of course people are going to mention him.
I agree. If you don't like it, don't read it.
I hate Alex and Izzie and Mexie and when there's articles on them, I ignore it. I don't go attacking their fans and calling them stupid for loving them.
If you don't like George, say it. It's a free board but to attack REAL people for being angry at a FICTIONAL show is going too far.
Shonda has disappointed us so much and we're angry now. This is a place where we can vent.
I doubt very much Shonda will be reading this and getting our feelings all hurt.
And rest assured, I won't be posting here anymore after the first episode.
I won't be watching anymore either.
It's kind of funny you claim to love the show but are encouraging even more people to leave.
God knows the show needs to lose even more viewers.

Plus how the hell is it George's fault he's dead? Because the guy was a hero and gave his life for someone else. A guy like that should have gotten a miracle and lived just like Izzie did.
If you mean it's TR's fault. No, it's not. Shonda chose to kill George off instead of sending him to the army.
It was her choice to kill so, so it was HER fault.

would you people just shut up already. what's done is done, he's not coming back, so stop crying about it. It's his own fault he's dead, not shonda's. If you have a problem with it, don't watch the show. Don't come on a Grey's blog and talk crap about it. If you didn't notice the show is called Grey's Anatomy, not George's Anatomy. I'm sick of the yelling, so if your done with the show, be done with the blog too. For all of our sakes, just be done.

Lexie telling George Screw you O'Malley, Mark saying George would come back in a body bag and laughing, the chief saying disadainfully he should be more like George, Alex and Cristina making fun of George, everyone calling him weak and a loser, Shonda calling TR an ordinary-looking man and George being thrown under the bus. Now that's harsh. George being all alone in the chapel when Izzie and Alex were getting married while the rest of the fab 5 were up there smiling and everyone else was with someone else, Alex telling George he never respected him, that was harsh.

Oh please. George has had nothing to do for TWO ENTIRE SEASONS because TR wanted to leave. You can't honestly believe that, can you?
I have watched a lot of shows where actors quit and you know what? Those characters were shown until the very end. Until the very last episode that they were on.
They actually were shown more so people could say goodbye to them.
They weren't shoved aside and shown two minutes per episode.
It's a well-known fact TR wanted more story and he was unhappy about this.
Nicolette Sheridan left DH but they gave her a great goodbye.
What did George get? Two minutes of airtime his last episode.
Nothing more he got in the last two seasons.
Do you honesly believe Shonda backburnered George an entire season for a cliffhanger she knew couldn't possibly last the whole summer?
I mean, honestly, how can anyone believe this garbage.
I used to love Grey, the whole Grey. This Grey that is based solely on sex and on exterior beauty disgusts me.

We're getting mad for nothing? She treated George like some useless wallpaper for two seasons.
Everyone got to have some happiness except him. Everyone got to have someone but him.
He got humiliated time and time again by every single character on the show, and we're getting mad for nothing.
Are you kidding me?
I'm not believing the rumors. I'm believing what I have been seeing on my screen for two years now.
There's no way any headwriter would treat a character like George if she had any love at all for him.

wow u guys are harsh but again ur only assuming what the media is saying again we don't know for A FACT about what happened between shonda and TR. so if you want to believe your own assumptins and rumors then that's your call. And if any other actor left GA I would still watch because GA is not circled around one character or couple there more than one aspect or issue in the show so yes I would still watch if KH or JC or any other actor left.

How are we suppose to get over the way she treated him? How are we suppose to get over Lexie's Screw you O'Malley and Mark laughing about how George would get back in a body bag, and Mark and Alex acting like anyone who could possibly love George are idiots.
Shonda obviously hated George and she took every opportunity to humiliate him.
Anyone remember George showing up 5 seconds an episode to have a door slam on his face?
We have every right to be mad at Shonda.
Shonda's message was loud and clear. Only hot guys deserve any happiness.
How can anyone watch a show with that message?
The sad thing is George was the real hero of the show. He died to save a shallow idiot who also thought George wasn't worth the time of day because he wasn't her idea of hot.
The sad thing is none of the supposedly hot guys on the show would have jumped in front of a bus for her.

What friendships? Not one of George's so-called friends ever remembered he existed this season.
He was the only one of the fab 5 to not be in Izzie's wedding party.
His friends all deserted him this season.
They all did.
Yes George grew and yes George became an amazing person, but did any of the lothers notice? No.
That's why George went to the army because he felt like noone cared.
I know what happened with Shonda and TR. I knoe how upset she was to fire her homophobe friend, and I know George vanished after that.
It doesn't take a genius to understand what went on.

I will badmouth Shonda if I want. She never fought for Gizzie. I know she loved them but the minute she got scared by the haters, she acted like they were some horrible mistake and no way could Izzie ever love a guy like George.
She treated George like dirt for the entire last season. She had everyone act like he was some kind of loser and make fun of him and ignore him all season.
She acted like no girl could ever really be in love with George when they could have the hotties like Alex and Mark, and like Callie and Izzie were worth so much more than him.
She never gave him any break. She ignored him for the last two seasons.
She tried to make all the characters more like George while George was ignored by his so-called friends and showed up 10 seconds every episode.
Shonda never stuck by TR during the IW episode.
But the moment IW was attacked she jumped to his defence.
Burke got to win an award as a doctor while George got thrown under a bus.

I know how upset people are about the lack of screen time George had for the past two seasons but LOOK! George has been through so much change in these past 5 seasons,look where he came from: a sensitive guy who was awkward in social situations (remember the flashbacks from S3 E1?) and the relationships he had and lost, and all the friendships he made with the doctors(esp Izzie) I honestly wish there was more George in the seasons to come but there's not. Think about all the good times that George O Malley brought to the show and think less about how Shonda hated TR (WE DON'T REALLY KNOW WHAT HAPPENED BETWEEN THEM AND WE MAY NEVER KNOW so stop badmouthing the GA creator) I will still watch GA if any of the characters died because everyone has a story in GA and they are all what makes Grey's Anatomy what it is today.

It's so unfair. Good guys get killed and bad guys get everything they want: the girl, the success, the respect.
George didn't even get to see his mom and his brothers before he died.
He spent the whole episode alone like he did the whole season.

She knew he was leaving and she opted for drama, instead of honoring a character so many of us love.

I actually thought for a moment they would let George live, just have him recover someplace else.

I find it rich that the AI fans say how disloyal we are. Since the whole show is catered to their needs, they can't have any idea how we feel here.
We have been continually ignored all season.
Shonda doesn't care about us.
85% said they didn't want George to be killed. That's how she listens to what the fans wanted.
She never forgave TR for the IW mess even though it was all IW's fault, and she hasn't given him any story or respect since IW left.
She's trash. She literally threw George and all of us who love him under the bus, and I don't want to watch a show like that anymore.
