"Does anyone think Burke might come back for George's funeral"
that would be quite fascinatingly poetic.

Der was the one who got drunk this season, not Mer. The only time Mer seemed to need courage from tequila recently was when Der's mom was due to visit, and surely all of us can understand that reason for needing a stiff drink.
Mer has dealt with her issues with regard to commitment, she's with Derek! I think the only thing that could hurt still is her Thatcher. Mer has even forgiven the man who broke up her parents marriage.
I hope that the writers have kept in their minds all that Der said in the proposal, in regards to how Mer deals with George's death in a very Mer way.
Der said Meredith moves forward in a crisis, and gets others to move forward with her. Der also said being dark and twisty is Mer's strength, and it makes her who she is. So I hope Mer won't be drinking alone at Joe's and isolating herself from Derek, cos that to me would not ring true,as Mer has changed. Cristina said that and that's the woman who said MEr lived at a pain level of an eight.
Phew! I some

No I don't want to see Burke again. I don't miss him at all. He was a pompous jerk just like the actor who played him.
And because of this idiot, we are losing TR, the best actor on the show.

Ugh enough of Burke. I never want to hear him again. The only way I would accept him back is with another actor. IW makes me sick. I could have slapped him when he was saying George wasn't needed on Grey anymore. George was a lot more needed than Burke.

Isiah will never return to this show. Noone wants him back except one or two obsessed spammers. If he does, they'll have a riot on their hands.
I'm not excited at all. I saw the promo and I cried. I love George. They should never have killed him.

Oh I would love a last George and Izzie scene. I love Gizzie. They knew he was leaving in December so they should have asked TR and Katie to film one last scene for the premiere.
I'm really annoyed they didn't even let George tell izzie himself he was going to the army. We could have had an amazing emotional goodbye scene there, and TR and Katie would have rocked it.
That's the elast she owed the Gizzie fans after backstabbing us like that.

Too bad we are not going to see a final conversation between Izzie and George. One last scene.
Why? I don't ask much.

I know. If Mer gets drunk, well Derek will know that she cared about George a lot and she is hurting. He loves her enough to stand by her. We all grieve in our way, and that's fine.
Izzie laughs. Cristina shuts down. Alex lashes out.
As long as they show George's closest friends affected by his death, I'm fine with it.
I would be really upset if they didn't care at all. As a george fan, that would feel like the biggest insult of all to me.
I want him to be remembered for the amazing guy that he was.

Hmm Meredith is one of the less selfish person I know. With George, she is probably the most caring of all of them.
She just ahd a screwed up emotionally abusive mom and an emotionally absent dad, so she has problems dealing with grief. George was one of ehr best friends. it's human to not be able to deal with grief, it doesn't make her selfish.
That being said, I'll miss george. He was the sanest, sweetest of the bunch and seeing his wonderfully beautiful face always made me smile.
He lit up the screen everytime he was on.
If by any miracle at all TR is reading this, I want him to know George will always be the character the very closest to my heart and Gizzie will always be the most magical couple I have ever seen.

Meredith will deal with it in a very "meredith" way?
does that mean that she will make it about herself like everything else?

Oh I miss george and TR so much already. I missed him last season. I kept looking for him, and we never saw him. I can't believe he had this awful season and then he died LIKE THAT.
George deserved better. That girl didn't even look at him, what an idiot to not see how beautiful George is.
I was really hoping he would get his happy ending. He was so great. I still miss Gizzie too. They were the best.

I agree Lynne. Alex and Izzie suck big time as a couple. Izzie and george were a billion times a better couple, and Shonda should have kept them together. AI are terrible, and I don't think Izzie loevs Alex at all.
If George leaving didn't make me quit, they would. Alex amde me ff Izzie last season, and I love Izzie.
George was the only character I cared enough about to continue watching Grey, so after the funeral, it,s bye-bye for me.

I think this season premier is gonna be the most sad and traumatic one in the history, of all tv-shows. And I think that we're not gonna realize how big this actually is that George is dead before we've seen a coupleof epiosdes and see that he's not there anymore! Why? This is crap!

Izzie and Alex being together is one of the things that make me not want to watch at all.
Sweet, good George, well that sounds so condescending. That makes him sound like a dog.
George was funny, complex, smart, insecure, vulnerable yet strong when it counted, heroic at times, scared at others.
He was real and yet so amazing.
He was more than good, dependable George. He had this special quality about him that made him stand out above all the rest.
He worked harder than anyone to succeed but Shonda and TPTB never let George get any happiness or success that lasted.
I hate that they made him die alone, feeling unloved and unneeded when he loved those around him so much.
But then he was beautiful but not in a model way, he was good but without being too emotionally screwed up and only hot model screwed-up people get to have any happiness on Grey.
Shonda is screwed up that way.
And no I won't be watching. George was the only real interesting character.
Angela, I agree with your comments about Derek. As to the "very Mer way", isn't it quite possible that it is that she takes off and no one hears from her for a couple of episodes? That way, the whole pregnancy/maternity leave issue would be solved.
I agree with everyone who thinks the first double episode will be sad, perhaps the saddest one ever on Grey's. But the fact that sweet, good George is dead will definitely not stop me from watching!
There are so many other great characters and stories to look forward to. Personally, I can't wait to see more of Cristina and Owen. I also look forward to see Izzie and Alex try to be together for real, and I would love it if Bailey and her family/work problems could get some more attention this season.
