FlashForward: Casting for Gary, Planning Ahead

No major FlashForward spoilers, but a bit of news regarding this wildly anticipated new show:
First, the series is casting for a recurring character. He'll first appear in episode eight and appears to be a bodyguard of some kind. How do we know? The official ABC casting notice says this is a non-speaking role...
[GARY] 40s, Caucasian. Hard, aggressive. A middle-management guy, he's committed to doing whatever the higher-ups need, even if it takes him into morally questionable territory. Please note in current script this is a Non-Speaking role, but with the strong possibility of returning in future episodes.
Secondly, producer David S. Goyer spoke about the show recently.
In the first part of his interview, he explains the planned timeline of events; in part two, he dishes on his inspiration for making FlashForward into a TV show.
