On this week's episode of Grey's Anatomy, Derek must help save the hospital's own lab technician, Isaac, when it turns out that he has an inoperable tumor surrounding his spine.

McDreamy finds himself juggling two things at once as he also questions Richard's authority.

This looks like a great episode. Awesome medicine and a break from some every day drama (minus that of the chief) My own opinion is that Issac wants the surgery and as long as he knows the risks then why not do the surgery to give him a chance?

If not official City Hall wedding (I can live with that), I'll be satisfied with the Honey Moon...

I would not worry about them breaking up if they hadn't broke up about a thousand times in the past. I hope they are done with it. Like I said it is a tired old story. I knew they would never get married in the church and all. But I'de love to see then have some kind of wedding the post-it thing was cute. But this fan needs some kind of wedding. LOL!!!

Why are people assuming that MerDer are breaking up because they have a rocky road ahead? Relationships, especially marriage, comes along with conflicts and problems. It's a part of life that they have to deal with. Can you imagine breaking up everytime they have a fight or have difficult times? Meredith already did this (recall "Great Expectations" when Derek asked Meredith, after he showed up after all, if she has done this before), so this time she's sticking. Derek is going to have some hard times coming in terms of his status on SGH and honestly, I think Mer is going to set him straight (as she always does) and make him see the bigger picture. I have a feeling that he'll be Chief by the end of the season and Mer will have a huge part on it. Can we give the episode a chance before drawing conclusions?

Derek´s journey:

Dimples MerDer are in committed relationship, they may not be legally married but they are committed, they made promises to each other.

Conflict I can handle. A break up not so much. I'de love to see them get married and in a committed relationship.

I dont think they are going to break up...I didnt get that out of that spoiler at all. Couples fight, no one is hunky dory happy with no problems.

I think it as Dimples.Another break up each other isn't possible. It is an old story, now i want to see them together now and forever with high and down as 2 normal fall-in-love people.

BTW it doesn't say that they are going to break up. It says that they are going to have conflicts. We can't have all happy all the time. Just because they are having conflict doesn't meant that they are going to break up. The fact that Derek contemplate his position at the hospital, could mean that he is considering taking another job at some other hospital, and if so the hospital could be in another city. which then what will it mean for the MerDer relationship and that brings conflict to the relationship, but not break up.

Grey's Anatomy Quotes

When we say things like "people don't change" it drives scientist crazy because change is literally the only constant in all of science. Energy. Matter. It's always changing, morphing, merging, growing, dying. It's the way people try not to change that's unnatural. The way we cling to what things were instead of letting things be what they are. The way we cling to old memories instead of forming new ones. The way we insist on believing despite every scientific indication that anything in this lifetime is permanent. Change is constant. How we experience change that's up to us. It can feel like death or it can feel like a second chance at life. If we open our fingers, loosen our grips, go with it, it can feel like pure adrenaline. Like at any moment we can have another chance at life. Like at any moment, we can be born all over again.

Doesn't matter how tough we are, trauma always leaves a scar. It follows us home, it changes our lives, trauma messes everybody up, but maybe that's the point. All the pain and the fear and the crap. Maybe going through all of that is what keeps us moving forward. It's what pushes us. Maybe we have to get a little messed up, before we can step up.
