Gossip Girl Casting New Boyfriend For Eric?
Looks like Eric could be getting a new boyfriend on Gossip Girl.
At least that’s the conclusion EW draws - and we'd have to agree with - based on casting calls for the role of Elliot, an attractive, upscale, scruffy 16-year-old.
He lives in Eric’s building, and the character is possibly recurring!
Also being cast? Keith van der Woodsen.
Seen briefly in the '80s spinoff-that-wasn't episode "Valley Girls," Keith is now in his early 40s. He's listed as "a handsome, charming commercial director, Serena and Eric’s paternal uncle, preferably blonde, guest star."
We're guessing the "uncle" bit could be just to throw us off. The show has been building up to bring Eric and Serena's father on the show all season.
Then again, maybe it is an uncle and the dad will be cast later.
Jonathan dumped Eric. Will he rebound with Elliot?

Keith is TOTALLY the Father. I just read wikipedia and it was said in TV series, Lily once married Keith Van der woodsen. Not William. so the writer just changed things in TV series

Honestly? I would have to see more of Eric to care. I mean, dont get me wrong, I like Eric and all, but I don't see enough of his romantic storyline to care.

I also thought that Elliot might be for Jenny.
And why think that William had changed his name - maybe their fooling us - they say they're looking for KEITH, but in the show, he'll be the dad and William. Or maybe he's just gonna be uncle Keith (reminds OTH though, maybe he'll get shot by his brother too)

Yeah, I was really curious to see how Lily would end up with Keith. I'm a huge fan of those love/hate lovestories (ie. BLAIR AND CHUCK!!!) I was really in love with Owen though...
And Keith can't not be blonde!!! Even if the spin-off didn't happen, we still all saw the Valley Girls episode.
Good call by whoever recommended Carlyle from Twilight. He'd be perfect.

I do believe Keith is gonna be the uncle. As I understand, in the books (I haven't read them, I saw this information in other forums and threads) Serena and Eric's father was named William Van der Woodsen, not Keith, that's why it was so confusing to some people to see a Keith Van der Woodsen in "Valley Girls" instead of William. But if it turns out that this Keith is the uncle then we can asume that Lily met William or whatever his name is going to be through Keith.

The new teenager should be a boyfriend for Eric but is scared to come out of the closet so pretends to be Jenny. This suits Jenny as well cos she can still do anything she wants with Damien

Jonathan did not have any emotion or backstory . with this new character we can feel attachment to the character . Maybe they didnt explore the relationship b4 because its a touchy subject.. idk ..

...could'nt Elliot be a boyfirend for Jenny? Don't Jenny and Eric live in the same building and are both 16 or am I missing something?
