Grey's Anatomy Plans Flashback Episode
Several other shows on ABC mess with time (Lost, FlashForward, Desperate Housewives) so it makes sense that it's finally Grey's Anatomy's turn in one form or another.
The 15th episode of the season will flashback to when Richard and Ellis Grey were doctors in their late 20s. The scenes will likely shed light on Richard's current demons.
As we know, the Chief has returned to hitting the bottle after many years of sobriety. We get the impression this will continue to be a problem when the show returns.
The series is currently casting actors who resemble James Pickens Jr. and Kate Burton to play the young doctors. What do you think, or hope, these scenes will reveal?

It would be nice to see a young Richard and Ellis. Whoever plays the young Richard and Ellis will be great as the episode will be awesome.

Absolutely! There should also be pre-Seattle, young Mark and Derek flashbacks!!! I'd LOVE to see that. At least we could get some insight on their friendship.

Although I have my dose of MerDer, I don’t mind some flashbacks. Ellis was great.
But I really want to see Derek’s family. I miss his mom!!! She’s the best!

I miss Ellis she was such a kick ass character. Even thought I hate her but I love to hate her. I miss Ellis interaction with Mer, those to me were the best scenes of the first 3 seasons. Ellis was a kicked ass character with Alzheimer image without it, she would've been awesome. I miss Kate Burton she was awesome. I think Shonda made a mistake making Ellis a character with Alzheimer. Image how awesome would've been seeing Ellis without Alzheimer interacting with Mer.

Connie is right, the chief's hair must reflect the style of the times, so it will be an 80's hairdo, interesting! Also the chief said he was younger than Mer is now (yes Mer is 31 nearly 32 in her 3rd year of residency)when he had the affair with Ellis. The affair went on for years supposedly.
In the first episode the chief recognised Mer cos she looked like her mom, so the you ng Ellis must be a little bit like Mer

I think SGH started tottering downwards when Mer arrived, cos she brought a lot of old memeories back to the chief that he had put aside. Mer makes the chief feel guilty, even though there is now a sort of understanding growing between them. The chief is very fond of Mer. I think Mer is getting over her dislike of the chief. Mer had figured out the impact of her mom loosing the love of her life(Richard) whist she's been @SGH, and with loosing her father I can understand why Mer disliked the chief so much.

This is sooo exciting. I'm really looking forward for this episode. The casting sides are already on SpoilerTV. They look good.
