Damages returns to FX on January 25.

But potential viewers that have missed the first two seasons - yet are intrigued by Glenn Close's Emmy for her portrayal of Patty Hewes, along with the show's overall critical appeal - should be warned: it's a difficult drama to jump into.

Fortunately, FX is doing its best to attract new fans. It's released the following video, which aims to quickly catch everyone up:

As for season three, a lot of casting news regarding upcoming episodes has been released. But few plot details... until now!

It appears as though the third season will focus on a Bernie Madoff-like character (played by Len Carion). Patty and company will try to take him down, while a number of twists, turns and schemes will clearly play a vital role.
