Sarah Wynter Joins Growing Cast of Damages

The impressive cast of Damages season three continues to grow.

Sarah Wynter has signed on to appear on the drama (alongside former 24 co-star Reiko Aylesworth) in the role of a security specialist that helps a assistant district attorney (Martin Short) unravel a financial scam, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Aylesworth will portray the wife of Campbell Scott's character, who plays a role in the scandal.

While few Damages spoilers reveal much about season three storylines, the cast itself has us excited for the January return of this drama.

Ahead on Damages: New Relationships, Love Interests

Damages is a legal thriller that focuses on suspense, murder, backstabbing, lies and deceit.

Love doesn't exactly play a major role on this FX drama.

But that may change a bit on season three, as Ebon Moss-Bachrach (pictured) has been cast as a love interest for Ellen Parsons. The actor has guest-starred on episodes of Medium and Fringe.

Meanwhile, look for Keith Carradine’s character to get involved with Glenn Close’s Patty, who saw her marriage fall apart last season.

It's a nice boune back for Carradine, who was recently killed off Dexter. Making love to Patty Hewes seems dangerous, but it's unlikely to result in death.

Reiko Aylesworth Lands Recurring Role on Damages

Just when we though the season three cast of Damages could not get any more impressive...

Reiko Aylesworth - best known for her long-time role as Michelle on 24 - has booked a recurring role on the FX drama, sources confirm to Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello.

Details about the actress' character are being kept quiet, but her mere presence has us excited.

Aylesworth joins a Damages cast that now includes new series regulars and guest stars such as:

Season three is scheduled for a January premiere.

Three Big Names to Guest Star on Damages

Following the announcement that Campbell Scott would appear as a series regular on Damages, the FX hit has announced a trio of other major names for its third season.

Actor/comedian Martin Short has also joined the cast in a major role; while Lily Tomlin (pictured, The West Wing) and Keith Carradine (Dexter) will come on board as special guest stars. No details on their roles have been released.

Earlier this week, Glenn Close won her second consecutive Emmy for Lead Actress in a Drama for her role on the show. It returns with new episodes in January.

Campbell Scott Joins Season Three Cast of Damages

Very few Damages spoilers regarding the third season of this FX hit have been released.

But we can report that Campbell Scott - most recently seen on Royal Pains - is joining the cast as a series regular.

No details about Scott's character have been released, as he could be anything from Patti’s new client to a colleague to an arch nemesis.

All we know that is that shooting on season three begins next month and it will premiere in January.

Last year, big-time guest stars on Damages included Ted Danson. William Hurt, and Timothy Olyphant.

Rose Byrne Tries, Fails, to Preview New Season of Damages

Rose Byrne spoke to TV Guide Magazine this week and we wish we could say she delivered a slew of Damages spoilers.

Alas, the actress seems as clueless about season three as we are. Here are excerpts from her interview with the publication:

On the new season of Damages: We start up again in September. Hopefully, by late august, they’ll start filling me in on what’s happening…..They said things off hand at the end of last season, but really I’m sure it’s all brewing now inside their little writer’s den.

On being surprised by the show's twists/turns: I have huge arguments with the writers all the time. "What am I doing? Why are you telling me now? I only have five minutes till set?” That’s TV. You know, Tate Donovan loves working like that. I think he finds freedom in the fact that you just have to make a choice really quickly about things they throw at you. I still get frustrated. I just prefer to have more time with the text, but you know, that’s just the way it goes.

Damages Season Finale Preview

The second season finale of Damages airs tonight.

As usual, the legal drama has spun itself a web of intrigue and suspense, leaving viewers with a number of questions needing to be answered this evening:

Did Ellen really shoot Patty in that hotel room? What will to happen to Daniel Purcell now that he's confessed to murdering his wife? Will Wes take out Ellen?

Producers Todd Kessler and Daniel Zelman previewed tonight's installment with TV Guide, taking readers character-by-character, storyline-by-storyline...

Patty: Is there any way she can have a happy ending?
"Throughout the season, Patty has lost huge support systems in her life," Zelman said. "The idea is that Patty has sort of isolated herself to the point where all she has left is Ellen. The question is: Will Ellen betray her?"

Ms. Hewes

Ellen
: Does Ellen seek forgiveness or revenge?
"That's really what the finale is about for Ellen," Zelman said. "She gets to a place where she can make that decision. The question is: What is she going to decide? And where does she go from there?"

Daniel Purcell
: Is he going to jail?
"Our show is all about gray area, and what we found intriguing is that he thinks he [killed his wife], but it's more complicated than that," Zelman said. "The bad guys could have saved his wife, but they didn't. We really wanted to end his story on an interesting, complicated note."

Tom: How can Tom still have a soft spot for the woman that fired him?
"Tom's a loyalist, and at the end of the day, he's always going to try to protect Patty," Zelman said.

Damages Creator Teases "Major Upheaval" Between Patty and Ellen

As viewers learned two weeks ago, the person Ellen is holding at gunpoint is Damages is none other than Patty herself.

Needless to say, the tension between these two character is about to get severely ratcheted up.

So confirms co-creator Glenn Kessler, who plays FBI Agent Werner this season. He recently spoke to TV Guide about the remaining episodes on season two.

"There's gonna be some major, major upheaval in Patty's life, and Ellen has some coming in her life as well," Kessler said. "The ground is going to shift considerably. Many of the things we've proposed throughout the season certainly do get knotted up, and these women end the season on very different ground than they started."

Glenn Kesser

Throughout this season, viewers have seen Werner and his partner often interrupted by phone calls from the former's estranged wife. Kessler says this is far from a meaningless plot point.

"In [Wednesday's] episode, the audience gets some answers as to what Agent Werner is actually up to and what his situation with his wife really is. That event kind of blows up, and it totally sends the season in a new direction."

On Damages, we'd expect nothing less.
