Gossip Girl Spoilers: Chuck's "Mom" a Jack Bass Scheme?
Is the arrival of Chuck's mom, who we saw at the end of "The Debarted," really just an elaborate ruse put on by his vengeful uncle Jack? That's the rumor of the day.
Here's what E! has to say about it in its Q&A today. It's not very clear if they know anything more than we do, but this will get you posting your theories (we hope):
Q: Do you know anything about Chuck Bass' "mom" on Gossip Girl?
A: I heard it's a trick by Jack Bass, but then, um, it might not be... or something. It sounds confusing and there are definitely lots of twists and turns, so buckle up!
Desmond Harrington played Chuck's uncle Jack Bass in Season 2. Will we be seeing more of him here in Season 3? What do you think the schemer is up to?

Blair: Just because we can't be together doesn't mean I don't love you.

I bet that Bart never liked Chuck because Chucks mom had an affair with Jack and Chuck is really his son! And that is Chucks mom but she had been living with Jack and instead of telling this to Chuck Bart just said she died! Imagine that!

I wouldn't like that this is his mom, first of all because I pictured her more... I don't know, that actress doesn't fit with that character. Obviously she will be part of Jack's scheme but what I don't understand is how... she can't get shares simply because she was Bart's wife and the thing with the Empire... isn't it something apart from Bass Industries?

I'm wondering if Chuck's mother is actually alive (not an imposter). Maybe she left Bart and it was such a blow to his ego and heart that he divorced her but felt that it was easier to say she was dead. Jack might be manipulating the situation.

Just a quick point of law for everyone. Nobody's Bart Bass inheritance would be affected by Evelyn being alive. Chuck and Lily were both specifically named in the will, rather than inheriting as next of kin, so there isn't a realistic legal challenge to the execution of the will (in the real world anyway).

yeah why would he lose the empire, that's impossible coz it's not part of bass industries anyways....

Even if Jack and "Evelyn" do contest the shares, there's absolutely no way that they could touch Chuck's inheritance. Lily may find herself out of pocket and kicked off of the board of management, but what did she have? 20 percent? 25 percent of the shares?
Even though Chuck was voted out by the morality clause, Bart Bass still left the majority shares to him. Also, if I remember correctly that clause was only valid until he was eighteen? I don't know, maybe it is up to the guardian. But, that still doesn't mean that Chuck automatically loses everything. He can also contest the clause and make out that Jack had no right enforcing it in the first place ---- I'm nearly positive that Lily/Chuck would have kept the CCTV footage of what happened that night in the bathrooms, even if she did decide not to press charges. It wouldn't be too difficult to discredit Jack, turning the board's favor once again in Chuck's direction, especially once they see that he's in a stable, loving relationsh

@Jeca
"Is hers, in the will were To lily bass (her name), not chuck's mom or tutor or any other concep"
Were they definitely to "Lily Bass"? I imagined they would have been bestowed upon his "wife", as that's often how recipients of shares are adressed in a will if they are a spouse. This makes me want to rewatch 2x15, haha :')
