This is the best show on television!!! the writers are geniuses!! i love all of the characters and especially Merideth!!i wait ALL week for this show .Keep the Mer=Der going!!i think Owen and teddy should be a couple and Christina a triangle to them. i love you Greys!!!

    Good episode. Really liked it.

Meredith. I'm finally starting to like her. She seems so zen, so balanced. Wonder for how long that'll last... Especially with Derek's attitude.

    A couple of dicks.
Mark was grossed at Lexie?? Gimme a break! He treated her like crap while discovering his new daddy role and then slept with Addison. And even after that he was mad!? C'mon!!
Derek, he bend and broke both Meredith and the Chief. The bottle and the glass in the chief's office was simply non-professional, it was sharky, bullish, a raider hit - nothing to do with responsibility towards the patients. And Mer at the end was right - he did it for him, he chose professional growth over the post-it.

How come a person who tosses away her loved one and choses her so called gift deserves a second chance?? Explain that to me. I'm so sick with Christina after what she did... Teddy seems genuine, she's not only a good surgeon, she seems to really love Owen. Good thing she got drunk and told Owen the whole truth... I realy hope they'll end up together sometime.

I have to respectfully disagree. I think that Owen provides the perfect "ying" to Cristina's "yang". Yes, we all know that she's very competitive and dedicated, but that's not ALL there is to life and that's what Owen is trying to tell her. I think she has a lot of trust issues (maybe Meredith excluded): Burke left her, Hahn left..Teddy WAS going to leave..notice a pattern here? Everything connected to cardio is failing her! Now Owen comes along and here he is telling her that he's willing to fight for their love; he's not going to leave, not going to fail her. Cristina needs that.

    ditto what Dena said.....

OMG! The episode was obviously fantastic! I loved it! The only thing i didnt like was how Izzie and Alex ended things. As much as I understand his side of things, he also needs to understand hers. She has been through unimaginable pain and terror. She has the right to go wrong sometimes and he should forgive her. Having Izzie back reminds everyone how much she brings to the show! I love her, she is the spice of the show, she makes it great. I miss her so much and I wish tht she comes back soon.

As for Richard and the cheif, I have NO respect for that man anymore, I find him soooo incredibly annoying! Iam so glad that Derek decidedto tell. It was soo cute when he told merideth " Once he's gone, I'm cheif and the first thing I'll do is hire Izzie back". I found that soo sweet I wanted to kiss him! lol

Arizona and Callie are great and soo hot! I love them both, and Calliee having chicken pox was hilarious! I hope that Mark and Lexie solve things out because they both love eachother. Lexie was hilarious at the beggining with her "recycling and good for the enviroment" speech. I wish she can take things more seriously with both of them sleeping with other people. Mark was a bit too harsh on her, afterall he did sleep with Addie too. I honestly would like Owen to hook up with Teddy. I find them sooo much cuter than him and Christina, Teddy loves him, and Christina doesn't show it as much, which is expected, but hse seems to not care or take it as serioulsy so i dunno. All i do know is that I think he is better with Teddy. I love Christina but her and Owen ar enot cute to me. They need to find her the perfect cute match. Someone who gets her competitiveness and dedication, and who does spoil her a bit by giving her surgeries like MerDer.

All in all, It was a FANTASTIC, GREAT episode and I loved it!

so....i'm thinking that alex is gonna start going out with Reed. and maybe izzie will say that she's like 5 months pregnant or something. and alex will start feeling for her again, and reed will get jealous and break up. and Alex and Izzie will be together againnn :) haha, hope that happens. i loveee alexandizzieee!

I thought that last nights episode was great. I think it was good that Derek told on the Chief he really needs help and I think Derek did the right thing.

Mark is such a hypocrite! If he was so concerned with his daughter then why did he sleep with Addison the whole time? Obviously he thinks that its fine for him to be a manwhore but its not ok for Lexie to have a one night stand? I guess hes not as changed as I thought he was. I still think they will get back together.

I really dont know what to think about Alex and Izzy. On the one hand, I would love to see them back together but on the other hand Izzy abandoned Alex. What was he supposed to do? Sit there and wait for her to make up her mind? I dont blame Alex at all. Its all on Izzy now.

It was super nice to see the Calizona scenes. Theyre still supercute together. I wish Cristina and Owen would just break up. Im really rooting for Owen and the Army girl (I can never remember her name!). Cant wait for next week!!!

I love Derek and I want him always be McDreamy. But he’s human. I get that he has the ambition to become chief. He knows he can do a good job; he cares about the people in the hospital. He has a knight heart. And see Richard let the people down, and how miserable they are without his mentor figure (as Bailey showed so brilliantly unhappy) makes his knight heart urges to act “you’re the only one who can do anything”. He found help with Owen, another hero. “You do what’s the best for most people”. Derek has the right intention and reason to do. Richard can cause a great damage to the hospital. And he needs help. Also, now Derek earned the position of chief. He’s the one people come for help. The one people confide and sick for guidance. And he is a leader. Wants to be a leader. But not at any cost. He could just say yes to Jennings in episode 6x01 but he didn’t. He was loyal to his friend and Richard wasn’t. Derek doesn’t trust Richard anymore. He lost a mentor too. But he’s the grown up one who can do something. The only one. But he uses the wrong argument with Meredith. To choose between the chief and Izzie. It’s not that simple. He could just say: “He’s your friend but he needs help, and he can damage a lot of people, like a patient, like Izzie. I don’t want to hurt him, but he needs help. And I can do his job, I can take care of all the people here, include Izzie.” It’s almost the same but isn’t. She says yes, but she isn’t happy. At least he didn’t break the post-it.

And of course Meredith has daddy issues. But not as most people do. She’s a surgeon. Richard is doing what she needs more now: trust her as surgeon. Makes she become better. Learn. She’s having what Cristina’s wants most. And Richard is doing this for her. She’s the only one who trusts him and his using her. Cause she’s young and naive and in need of the only thing he has to offer now. He’s using her to not feel useless. Adele is gone. The hospital is broken. Bailey was his pupil but she didn’t need him anymore. She’s an attending capable of do her own surgeries without him. That’s what he thinks but she still needs his support and encouragement. But he lost this too. People don’t trust and like him anymore except for Meredith. And she feels that. He’s an accomplished surgeon, an admired man, and now he needs her. It’s not fair to her. She can’t resist that. And she didn’t see things in black and white like Derek so she believes Richard will recover. But he’s not.

I love that they are mature and fighting and staying. But as much as they are equals in the house, husband and wife, that’s not the same in the hospital. There she’s a kid, maybe a teenager, and he’s the adult. It’s a huge different. She has the ambition of the young’s to become a great surgeon. He’s already a great powerful surgeon who can refuse to be fired, confront the chief of surgery and pay with his own money to have something done. But with all this power comes responsibility. That’s why he needs to do something. That’s why she doesn’t understand him totally yet. But that’s life, and they will be ok together.

Joan Rater, the writer, said “The theme of this episode was exposure but when I watched it being shot I realized it was really about ambition.” I think with the exposure about what people really are inside we can see ambition, for sure, but most of all in the couples, we can see how different and in some ways distant they are. Not really about just age, but life experience and maturity.

    Derek and Meredith.
Owen and Cristina: she’s ready to choose surgery over love and he’s saying “we matter”.
Mark and Lexie: she’s relieved thinking they are even cause both slept with someone else and he’s devastating cause she did it while thinking he was fighting to save his daughter and grandbaby’s life’s, not the same. It’s great to see how much Mark has grown up.
And so did Alex. Alex and Izzie: He knows now he’s a good man and doesn’t deserve that. She was the immature one who runs.
Arizona and Callie: I don’t like lies but Arizona was trying to protect their relationship. To know our limit and when to stop is a mature thing to do.

Some are capable of seeing a bigger picture. Some aren’t there yet. Some will last forever. Some are done.

    Great episode, good job.

I just want to mention something about mesothelioma. I feel that the show treated the disease without really explaining how deadly, painful and horrible it is. Currently, there isn't a cure (even if in the show they talk about the patient as if he'd been cured).

The Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation is trying to change that by funding research. they also provide patient services, including a bulletin board for patients to interact on. More info is at http://www.curemeso.org

It's important to raise awareness of mesothelioma and for that i'm very grateful that the writers tackled this topic.
