William Baldwin to Play Serena's Dad on Gossip Girl
The CW has not commented officially, but inside sources confirm an Entertainment Weekly report that Billy Baldwin is in talks to play Serena van der Woodsen's (Blake Lively) absentee father in episodes of Gossip Girl later this season.
Sources say Gossip Girl has tapped the former Dirty Sexy Money star to play the pivotal role of Serena and Eric’s estranged father, William van der Woodsen.
This casting should have major implications not only for Serena, who has been hunting him down for months, but for her mom and his ex-wife, Lily.
A show spokesperson declined to comment, but EW says William Baldwin is booked to appear in at least three episodes; his first airdate is slated for April.
Presumably, this is not the same van der Woodsen encountered by young Lily in "Valley Girls" last season. He was Keith ... not that it really matters at all.

The hair color is the less of the show's problems right now. You know a baby can be born blond even when both his/her parents are brunettes. It comes down to genetic and it goes way before your parents and past your grandparents.

man i love love loved matt barr as keith. what a hottie. totally would've watched a valley girls spin off with him in it.
i have negative feelings toward casting william baldwin. he was pretty lame in dirty sexy money imo. lets hope he proves me wrong

William I believe was the name of Serena and Eric's father in the books, along with Lily short for Lillian, possibly Keith was in the spin-off as the brother? If they did have the spin-off

Why the fuck is keith not the father. i mean here i was thinking i was all smart and connecting dots when i watched that valley girls episode. that baldwin is not a good choice serena is gorgeous and deserves to have a gorgeous father who has blonde hair like she does. keith had that and they had beetr correct this story line and recast. where the hell is carter by the way if serena's dad comes back so should he
