Ann-Margret and Jaclyn Smith to Guest Star on Law & Order: SVU

While the announcement that Christopher Meloni is leaving Law & Order SVU after next season has clearly been the biggest piece of casting news facing this series, it's been shoved into the background recently due to a slew of guest-starring bookings.

For example: Sharon Stone will appear in four upcoming episodes as Assistant District Attorney Jo Marlowe, while Mischa Barton has signed on to play a prostitute.

We can also now confirm that veteran actresses Ann-Margret and former Jaclyn Smith will come on board the long-running series in the near future.

Executive producer Neal Baer tells TV Guide that Margret will portray "a star of commercials that were made in the '70s" and will be joined in the episode by Smith, who he adds will play "a retired cop who works with Benson and Stabler to solve an old crime."

Just call the episode "Charlie's Angels thirty years later," Baer joked.

The installment will ais on March 31. It will also feature Morgan Fairchild, Susan Anton, William Atherton and Renee Taylor.
