I don't know why most people think it's nate to be shot. It wouldn't make any sense. Rather Chuck or Dan.

Let see guys. Chuck will be on the 4th season premiere in France, so he wont get shot.
Looking back to what Ausiello said: "its *a*e" , Nate fits perfectly.
Maybe Dorota gives birth, but the shooting will be at the end of the epi like a BIG cliffhanger. The thing is: who will shoot Nate? Maybe Carter? I think so..

It's also for the shooting victim later on in the episode. And considering that Blair threatens Jenny in the hospital, there's a very strong possibility that the victim is Chuck.

Considering in the extended promo S, D, and N are all standing in a hallway which loos like a hospital hallway, I am putting 110% on the its Chuck who gets shot.

"Mugged" means to be robbed (or burgled)or assaulted,usually out in public.

If Jenny shot Nate or Chuck she would be ARRESTED not sent away! C'mon, Rufus was going to let her go into the slammer for more minor crimes. Clearly this is not a main character shooting someone.
I can't imagine Serena leaving for Paris if it were Nate OR Dan. Similarly Blair AND Chuck going if he was recently shot. I can't imagine how they're going to pull this off!

also i don't think Rufus would be crying because dan would get shot. if his kid got shot he would be freaking out. i think he's crying because how out-of-control and effed up his daughter, jenny, has gotten, and he can't to anything to control her and feels helpless. poor guy :(
