hmm i think it could be chuck when he is getting mugged.
some of you are saying he couldn't be shot their because then he would have never shown the ring to blair. but what if: 1. he gets mugged AFTER 2. what he's being mugged for it just a "box" (so it doesn't necessarily mean the ring) and he never was going to give a ring to blair (as much as i want him too)
wow..there seems like way too much going on this is ONE episode?! how is that possible?!

The whole hospital thing could happen early in the show--we shouldn't necessarily believe the timeline that is implied, in the promo videos :)
I think we CAN assume the hospital is the day after the night before when Dan/Serena shared a bed together, and when Nate slept with...someone.
Let's face it, Dan isn't popular enough to get shot.
It's either Nate or Chuck.
And idk, would Chuck really be in Paris next season if he got shot?

i think it could be dan because on the extended promo rufus is crying and i don't think he is crying for jenny, (or maybe he does beacause she must leave)

I think it will happen to Chuck , The shooting thing . Because you see all of thoose characters on the hospital except Chuck , In the promo there is a scene were Nate is walking away from Dan and Serena
And for the confirming thing , I dont know who will admit it , Serena or Dan , Because why would Serena be in paris in S4 ? But it FEELS moore like Dan , Oh , I dont know !

@LiLA, when does Jenny mention anything about a joke? I think what she says when she's crying is "this was a such a mistake", or at least that's what I've heard....
I am more like agreeing with @Amanda. It is a lame story, but hey, we've got Scott (who was no longer even mentioned again during the season. Where is the "I want to a part of my abandonned kid's life" Rufus?) and Elisabeth Fisher (a character who was completely wasted in a trashy and lame plot). So yeah, perhaps that will happen to Chuck. Or maybe he goes to Paris trying to find her mom again who's said to be in eastern europe, idk. I am not even sure how you guys know that Chuck is the third one in Paris.
Pmff..I REALLY don't know what to think! And, believe me, it's unbelievable xD
Soo confused and there are too many theories...I've just to wait until monday...Tuesday because i'm italian and I watch it the day after D:

I reckon in both cases it's Dan, why not- he's my fave and needs more decent scenes so its a win win for me in this scenario just DONT kill him off!! Anyways he realises his feelings for S but gets shot mid journey (summit to do with Georgina and her shady return).... I know its a long shot (haha shot- K that was lame). Anywho yeah so next season we start back with Dan slowly recollecting his memories and then we're gradually led to a Dan/Serena reunion halfway through which gives plenty of time for Lily and Rufus to break up and the weirdness to be somewhat muted! Who's with me!?!
Correction from previous post: saying goodbye to her, meaning Jenny.

What if Nate gets shot because of Jenny (I don't know what she could be doing with him.. but who knows at this point..) and that's why she's crying saying it was all a joke? I think it's Nate because Chace did a shooting scene in his movie and said he thought it was cool or something. LOL maybe they incorporated his new-found shooting scene experience. I don't think it's Chuck because he's going to Paris, he must be fine!
If it's Dan (again, due to something involving Jenny?), maybe Serena is the one who admits she still has feelings for him because he is hurt? That would explain why he is not at the train station to say good-bye to her...
Just throwing out a few more possibilities.

I hope it's Serena the one "aknowledging" she has feelings for Dan.. Cause, Dan has done too many times before..it would be much more interesting if the "chase" would be the other way around this time..

Another thought--if this story, '..goes back to the pilot..' like the writers say, and they are going to finally address the whole almost date-rape of Little J by Chuck--how could that play out?
Dan already knows what happened that night, as does Serena; Blair doesn't, AFAIK, though...

It's so gonna be Chuck the one who gets shot.
As for DS, they wouldn't make much sense now, it's all out of the blue. Their parents are married, Serena is with Nate and Dan with Vanessa. There hasn't been any decent build-up for NS and DV up to now, these pairs haven't been sufficiently developed and now all of a sudden, BAM, it's DS again???!!!!

Chuck doesn't get shot,cause even if he get robbed or something it before he proposes.. to blair,i think he get's robbed..... before he goes to the ESB but keeps the ring,because they were infront of the hospital when he proposed.. or tried to and that leaves Dan or
Nate.. but i don't know,it doesn't make sense... cause .. if it's nate serena wouldn't leave with blair for paris,i mean even though they were fighting she said she loved him,she wouldn't leave. And if it's dan.. again... she wouldn't live he's a part of her family.. or chuck.. blair wouldn't leave too.. at at all.. and that leaves .. blair and serena leave,and maybe.. nate.. gets drunk and get hit by a car or whatever happens,or dan .. or.. maybe chuck... i don't it's just a theory,we'll know for shure on monday when the finale is released ,and i'm wondering.. with all of these spoilers,and so many scenes,where on Earth they will fit in 45 min .. it sounds

YEEEEEEY for D & S! They are meant to be! They were from the beginning and they always will be! They were the major couple in the first season, which was by far the most popular.... they should bring them back together somehow!
In the promo Serena Dan and Nate are in the hospital because of Dorota giving birth, I guess. I think Chuck or Nate will be shot. Plus people, PARIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS EPISODE, they haven't filmed in Paris yet. So, maybe they will refer to it, but won't go there.
I love Dan and Serena together and I think Dan will be the one whos stops pretending. This episode is getting more interesting everyday! I can't wait anymore!

It'll probably be Chuck, and he'll have amnesia and show up in Paris not remembering anything from his life before the shooting and that's what will make his visit a shock that could change everything back in NY.
This is so very lame, even for this show.

Ok, the spoiler says the shooting happens at the end of the episode--so that might mean it happens AFTER the hospital scenes.
I think it's Nate who gets shot, since Chuck is in Paris with Blair/Serena.
I also think that Dan is going to be the 'visitor' from the UES (unless Carter rolls back in but Sebastian should be busy elsewhere, filming Captain America).
Also, the press release about season four says that, '...a radiant Serena blah blah...' To me, radiant means that Serena's happy--is she happy with Nate or Dan? Or is she happy to be rid of both of them? or maybe she's happy that Jenny is gone? LOL
