Forgive the obvious pun, but might love blossom for Sheldon on next week's episode of The Big Bang Theory?

Former sitcom star Mayim Bialik debuts as Amy, a character that will stick around - spoiler alert! - through next season.

"The season finale really is just a tease of things to come," Bialik told E! News. "There is an exchange between Sheldon and Amy that is enough to convince him that maybe he should pursue this. It's not complicated yet. It's a tease at the end of this episode."

Fans can look forward (or not, depending on your viewpoint) to a spark between Bialik's character and Sheldon.

"We meet through an online dating service," the actress says. "Raj and Wolowitz set it up. The scene has more than just me and [Jim Parsons] in it, but it's a very direct communication between us. It's very cute."
