Despite a lack of cast members, Law & Order: Los Angeles was a key part of NBC's fall schedule when the network unveiled its new line-up in May.

Now, the series finally has a name attached to it: Skeet Ulrich will play detective Rex Winters, an ex-Marine whose experience during the Rodney King riots shaped his philosophy on the job.

As first reported by Entertainment Weekly, the character is also married to his ex-partner.

Ulrich appeared on three hours of CSI: NY last year and anchored cult favorite Jericho, which only lasted for 29 episodes, but developed a passionate following.
