Grey's Anatomy Spoilers: Major Owen-Cristina News!

at . Comments

When Grey's Anatomy returns for Season 7, Owen and Cristina ... well, you need to read this Grey's Anatomy spoiler here to find out. It's major, so proceed at your own risk!

For whatever reason, creator Shonda Rhimes insists on giving away many details from the premiere - if she didn't, would fewer people watch? It's really weird, if you ask us.

Still, there's little harm in it. If you want to keep building the suspense for the seventh season, turn back now. To read major Cristina and Owen gossip, continue right here ...

They’re getting married!

That's right. No cryptic teasers here. Cristina and Owen are tying the not, and Shonda told EW why: “The theme of this season is rebirth,” declares the Grey’s Anatomy boss.

“Everybody is sort of coming out of this very dark place [following the massacre]. There was something really hopeful and beautiful about Cristina and Owen getting married.”

At the same time, Rhimes says she wanted something to symbolize that the show was undergoing a major shift in Season 7. Basically, she needed a game changer ... again.

“We talked about jumping ahead in time, about jumping ahead a year,” she says. “When it came down to it, the thing that signals the biggest change is Cristina wanting to be a bride. There's nothing more different for Cristina than Cristina wanting to be a bride.”

With the Cristina-Owen love triangle toast and a wedding around the corner, what next? Will they succumb to baby fever? Rhimes won't say, but does expound on them a bit.

“It’s really hard for Cristina and Owen to be boring," she says of Yang and Hunt. "If Mer and Der are a lighter couple, Cristina and Owen are so fraught with their darkness and their twistiness that I can’t imagine them getting boring ever.”

What do you think? Are you excited that Owen and Cristina are getting married? How will it come about? Will this mark positive new territory for the couple?

The last twenty minutes of the season finale proved- to me that Cristina and Owen are, truly, 'soulmates'. Because, eventhough, Owen appeared to be unable to choose between Cristina, or, Teddy, and, Cristina had ended their relationship. The looks exchanged between Cristina and Owen said, so much. When Cristina looked at Owen in the OR, she said, I love you, Owen. Please. Save my best friend. Owen gave a simple nod, that said, I love you- too- and, I will try. He could have been killed- and Cristina realized that. Cristina and Owen had to fight for their love, and they deserve to have their 40 years, together. Still- I think it'-too soon- for a marriage. Cristina will probably suffer from her own form of PTSD from the 'shooter' incident. Hopefully, Owen will have to help her deal with trauma of it all. But- that's a good thing, because, Sandra and Kevin will get to have more amazing, scenes together. I hope there's a lot of- tastefully done- hot, passionate, sticky, make-up sex.

I LOVE THEM, nice they are getting married
dont ya people do all so negative, she is happy with him

ff3725, where did you hear that? Now that you mention it, I may have read that somewhere and forgotten about it. Would that be in MerDer's new house? You know I'm really going to miss Meredith/Ellis' house. That place was simply awesome. sigh.

Hi Lina,
Witness has to be Meredith, right? Interesting question though, like would Derek also be there? It would be just like Shonda to throw a curve ball and have someone unexpected be there, like if Mer couldn't be, say Mark Sloan or Callie. ???

I read that they are going to get married in Mer's living room and that she is not going to be in a white dress. IT is going to be done in true Christina style.

mfcgal, Just breathe!

Ok, so I am speechless now. I dont even know if I like it or hate it or don't even care. I loved them together initially then hated them when Teddy came and now I just dont care.

@Beth, I agree. And since I guess he proposes and that they get married in the same epi, they can't have the time to plan a wedding. So I'm guessing, city hall? Though I wonder who's going to be there whitness...

My guess is no big wedding. Maybe only a justice of the peace? Like she wanted before with Burke.

I am not happy with this one at all. I was really hoping to see Christina and Avery. It feels like Christina's character is not growing as the writers are saying but instead giving up everything she stands for.

Grey's Anatomy Quotes

I want to marry you. I want to have kids with you. I want to build us a house. I want to settle down and grow old with you. I want to die when I'm 110 years old, in your arms. I don't want 48 uninterrupted hours. I want a lifetime. Mmm. Do you see what happens? I say things like that and you fight the urge to run in the opposite direction. It's okay, I understand. I didn't, but now I do, I do. You're just getting started and I've been doing this for a long time now. Deep down, you're still an intern, and you're not ready.

When we say things like "people don't change" it drives scientist crazy because change is literally the only constant in all of science. Energy. Matter. It's always changing, morphing, merging, growing, dying. It's the way people try not to change that's unnatural. The way we cling to what things were instead of letting things be what they are. The way we cling to old memories instead of forming new ones. The way we insist on believing despite every scientific indication that anything in this lifetime is permanent. Change is constant. How we experience change that's up to us. It can feel like death or it can feel like a second chance at life. If we open our fingers, loosen our grips, go with it, it can feel like pure adrenaline. Like at any moment we can have another chance at life. Like at any moment, we can be born all over again.
