Chyler Leigh Speaks on Grey's Anatomy, Family

at . Comments

As the mother of three children, a cast member on Grey's Anatomy and a star of Lifetime's new movie The 19th Wife (premiering tonight), Chyler Leigh is one busy woman these days.

In a recent interview, she dished a little about the new season of Grey's, as well as what it's like raising little kids and some of the parenting advice she shares with her co-stars ...

On what viewers can expect on this season of Grey's Anatomy: "The trauma [from last May] manifests itself differently in each character. My character has a complete breakdown. She can't stop thinking and can't sleep. She ends up in the psych ward."

On the end of her character's love triangle on Grey's Anatomy: "There's not much of a love triangle. It becomes a question of who's going to be there for her after her breakdown and you'll see that right away in the [Season Seven premiere]."

On sharing parenting advice with her Grey's co-stars: "Yes, we all do. Jessica Capshaw is going to be a second-time mom. Chandra Wilson has three kids. There are something like 20 kids between all of us. We talk about what things work and don't work."

On her secret to a successful marriage: "Time. Time together as much as we can. Because we don't have a lot of quantity time, we make it as quality as possible. A big thing for us is being able to get out of the house to even just look at each other."

"It's really important to us to take that time and work on our marriage. To refocus about marriage and take time to build each other up. We're a huge support system for each other, and we're a team. We both come from an experience of divorce and difficult family situations."

"When you go through something like that, you have a choice to genuinely change it and make huge changes not only in yourself, but also in the way you work together. We cherish that. We work really hard to make our family the number one priority no matter what."

How much do you love Chyler?

would be too simple if Lexie return back with Mark as too trivial story line and I do not think Shonda is trivial, who knows what lies ahead.

I think that it would be fun if the Grey's characters visit PP when Grey's is over after season 8. Or some kind of spin off. Or not. I just think that season 8 is the last one. That's for the best, storywise. But I'll miss it SO MUCH!!! I can't imagine my life without these doc's!!

@ anuflas: Don't get me wrong.. I can't even Imagine the GREY without Meredith Grey or Ellen Pompeo! I doubt that Lexie would ever be a Big enough character to hold up a whole show about her life.. If after Season 8 the Show loses EP.. I think the best option would be to create a Spin off on either Cristina or Alex's Life after Residence. ( I know the topic is Lexie/CL and I'm Rambling :P) Well yeah she is a lil whiny but i find it a part of her charm.. :)

@RaXXX, Portraying a character well and actually liking the character are two different things. CL does a good job at Lexie but I find Lexie to be annoying and whiny. Just because Lexie shares the 'Grey' last name doesn't make her THE Grey. She is just, the other Grey. Or in Mark's own words Little Grey. She's not the Grey or ever will be (I'm pretty sure that a lot of people will bail out when EP leaves). I don't have to learn to love her. I won't. Simple. Other than that, I'm glad CL is happy with her life. That's what people fight for and I'm happy she has what she wants.

I love Lexie (Cyler) so much, she is my favorite character. I don't get why some people don't like her. I think Mark will be the one who'll be there for Lex, because we know Alex is going back to his old ways. I love MARK AND LEXIE together as a couple and individuals!

@greys fan: i saww the 19th wife last nighttt !! omg it wass soo freakinn goooddd i lovedd itt. it was such a great storyyylineee. it wass soo good and i cant believe lexie was the 19th wifee i was in shockkk. i love chyler ahah and lexiee i used to not like lexie in season 4 but then after t hat i loved herr she crackks me upp

I just love Chyler Leigh. She such a beautiful and talented actress. It is awesome she can balance being an actress, a wife, and mother. Cannot wait to see what happens with Lexie on Grey's. I know a lot of people don't like her, but she is one of my favorites. Did anyone else see the 19th Wife? It was fanastic.

I REALLY hope it's MARK who is there for her. I LOVE THEM TOGETHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think Lexie is a part of THE Grey's anatomy, but a lot of people don't see it that way since she only came along in the fourth season, I like Lexie. And for Chyler, she married very young had kids very young and has a career; OWESOME!

Grey's Anatomy Quotes

Did you say it? 'I love you. I don't ever want to live without you. You changed my life.' Did you say it? Make a plan. Set a goal. Work toward it, but every now and then, look around; Drink it in 'cause this is it. It might all be gone tomorrow."

Meredith (closing voiceover)

There's a reason I said I'd be happy alone. It wasn't 'cause I thought I'd be happy alone. It was because I thought if I loved someone and then it fell apart, I might not make it. It's easier to be alone, because what if you learn that you need love and you don't have it? What if you like it and lean on it? What if you shape your life around it and then it falls apart? Can you even survive that kind of pain? Losing love is like organ damage. It's like dying. The only difference is death ends. This? It could go on forever.
